Located a 5-minute walk from the center of Zermatt, Chez Nous Zermatt is 1476 feet from the Sunnegga elevator and 3117 feet from the main Matterhorn Express gondola. All units feature a balcony with Matterhorn views and a living/dining area with a home-cinema system. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, a microwave and a coffee machine. Bed linen and towels are provided. The rates include a taxi transfer from the train station to the apartment upon arrival. We have deliberately kept Chez Nous Zermatt small because our experience is that a boutique, owner-managed business is the best way to ensure that our guests get a truly personal service. Angus first came to Zermatt when he was 9, fell in love with the mountains and has been skiing and hiking here regularly ever since. Lizzie arrived in 2007 for what was supposed to be 1 season, met Angus here and Chez Nous Zermatt was born. We have long experience in the hospitality & skiing industries and with our combined knowledge of the Zermatt ski area, the mountain restaurants and the village, you will be in good hands when it comes to planning your trip. We will open up our address book and ensure that you get the full benefit of our expertise and local knowledge. We now divide our time between the UK and Zermatt but we have a dedicated concierge team in Zermatt and between us we will make sure that you are well looked after during your stay.

Property info

Angus Potter and Lizzie Orange set up Chez Nous Zermatt to offer our guests a luxury holiday rental experience that feels more personal – more like staying with a friend than in a “vacation home”. We have personally furnished all 4 of our holiday apartments to create an atmosphere that aims to make you feel at home from the moment you walk in. The balconies of our building all look out out on to the field with the lovely old Swiss stadels in the foreground and the Matterhorn presiding in the background. The kitchen/dining/living rooms are generously furnished so you can enjoy meals at home and then in the evenings (or on bad weather days) you can get cosy in front of the home cinema system (with UK channels and Apple TV) watching a film or reading your book and when it is time to sleep the beds are super-comfortable. We also make sure that "the basics" are in stock so that you can make tea/coffee and have a glass of wine without having to go shopping straight away! If you are part of a larger group of family and friends, using more than one apartment can allow you all to be together in the same building but free to retreat to your own space when needed.

Neighborhood info

Zermatt deserves its reputation as one of the world's best mountain resorts - there is a magical quality to it all year round and it's restaurants tucked in to the mountain-side are known to be the best in the Alps! The Klein Matterhorn cable car is the highest cable car in Europe (3,883m at the summit) and on a clear day gives you simply breathtaking views out towards Mont Blanc and its surrounding peaks. Alternatively start your day on the Gornergrat railway which originally opened in 1898 and is the second highest railway in Europe and a great feat of Swiss engineering. From the top of Gornergrat you get a sweeping panorama of 29 'four thousanders' (mountains over 4,000m) including the Monte Rosa which is the highest mountain in Switzerland. In the winter your lift pass covers the Zermatt and Cervinia and includes some 360km of marked runs but if that isn't enough you can also ice skate, sledge, hike, snow shoe, try curling or simply swim and relax in one of the village hotel's wonderful wellness areas. In the summer there is glorious hiking, climbing, a fun park for the children, cycling, tennis, squash, paragliding and plenty of places to have a picnic by a lake.
