Great location, right next to the commercial area of Talca and very close to the train station. The hotel was pretty, the beds comfortable and the bathroom surprisingly big. The hotel offered free coffee and tea for free in the afternoons, which was a very pleasing surprise and made every afternoon better when coming back to the hotel.

Talca's got a very different vibe to other cities in the area. It's a great base for visiting Altos de Lircay National Park, and if you get the first bus there and the last bus back you can do the Enladrillado hike which is spectacular!

In my mind, Talca itself is not an interesting city at all.
In my mind, Talca itself is not an interesting city at all. However, it's a very good stepping point from which to visit Vilches, a village in the magnificent Andes mountains, and wineries in the Maule river valley.

The property sits in the middle of a lush environment with streams and beautiful gardens. There are goats, chickens, geese, rabbits a cat and 2 cute friendly little dogs ☺️ We loved it here. The owners were also extremely helpful and could advise us on the best treks in the area as well as the flora and fauna. The best thing is the garden with the pool (which was closed...) which felt like an oasis in the city and is a nice place to hang out on a warm day. There's no lock on the door of the room but it is a small hotel with just a few rooms and the host seems always around and there are cameras. The main door was always locked. So felt perfectly safe.

Our room was lovely with a nice balcony, and the breakfast room was gorgeous. The location was great because it is near a square, with several restaurants and bars nearby. One of the staff recommended a restaurant to us (Pisco Lima), and even made suggestions on what to order. We thought it was one of the best meals we had during our month-long trip to Chile.

Hostel Casa Azul was a little off the main plaza and we were given a large room and access to the kitchen ( no other guests were there).
