It is a charming town, and has great food. There is an old steam train (amazing) that runs daily to the mountains and returns after 15 minutes. The one hour train ride each way cost only about 25 euro, with return. We stayed 3 days.

Located in Quedlinburg just north of the Harz Mountains, Das Sattlerhaus offers 3 comfortable apartments. The apartments are a 2-minute walk from the historic old town. The homelike apartments at Das Sattlerhaus include a separate bedroom, and have a living room with a sofa. Guests can prepare their own meals in the fully equipped kitchens, which include a coffee machine. The Old Town contains several half-timbered buildings which date back as far as the 14th century. The surrounding Saxony-Anhalt countryside also offers the ideal chance for hiking and cycling. Within a 5-minute walk of the apartments there are several cafés and restaurants which specialize in German cuisine. Das Sattlerhaus is 2461 feet from Quedlinburg Train Station, and it is a 30-minute drive to the A14 motorway which connects to Leipzig.
