Centrally located, very nice décor of the rooms, staff is very friendly and helpful

There is no elevator, and steps are steep, so climbing to the upper floors with luggage could be challenging. Breakfast could be better. Maintenance of the rooms is not sufficient. As a whole, I believe rooms in the hotel are considerably overpriced.

The staff were all really friendly and helpful and the location was great - incredibly close to the main station. Everything was good - comfortable, interesting decor, nice breakfast.....very good value and I'd recommend it.

Very unusual hotel - makes such a nice change from the bland and generic modern hotels. Inexpensive. A few humdred meters from the Hauptbahnhof so easy for train access and taxis.

It is located in a bit of a seedy part of town, but do not let this put you off. The area appears safe and there was no street noise from a front facing room on the second floor. The hotel has fairly basic soap/shampoo provision, so if you like all the posh little bottles of different things, then take them from your last hotel and use here!

Unique ambiance from "red light" past - lots of red plush. Good location. Quiet. Everything worked, including free wifi.

Lots of stairs, no lift. Still a few "professional ladies" hanging around the street.

I had difficulty getting a signal on my IPad. There is only one toilet and shower room on the third floor. Very uncomfortable pillow.

In case you haven't yet discovered, this hotel was a brothel in a past era. The obvious effect is that the hotel was furnished in a very "peculiar" manner and rooms were displaced in landings, really reminding of... A brothel. This was not a problem at all, in fact it gave the hotel a nice atmosphere which was complemented by a tester bed and a flourished wallpaper. The hotel staff was also very kind and warmly welcomed us when we arrived.

Our heavy suitcases made us turn our attention to a deficiency which may be more or less relevant for others: there was no lift. Breakfast could have been a bit more abundant, but still it was good. The hotel location is central, but you may want to consider that, due to the proximity to the central station, surrounding streets may sometimes be frequented by all sorts of people.

The room has no bathroom. The room were not clean. The room are very old.

It was good overall.

The listing on booking.com shows this hotel's triple room with 3 beds (reason I booked it). But once there, you are given a triple room with 1 large bed and 1 small one. Don't know if this is a fault of booking.com or the hotel for advertising false info, but it is misleading.

Really nice staff and great rooms, great service, and a wonderful breakfast.

Im was been in apartement in Lange Reihe.(not in hotelroom in steindamm) Perfect location, large living room.

The bathroom is ravaged....10/2 :-((( We would like "no smoking room " and we get a smoking smell flat :-((( We need 2 keys for the flat, but on the 3 day they cant give...

The hotel is located in the red lights zone, right near sex shops.

It was very handy for the station and city centre. The room was pleasantly different from most hotel rooms, with fabric on the walls, coloured cushions (and feathers), and a mirrored canopy above the bed.

There was no air-con and as it was hot we had to sleep with the window open which made it incredibly noisy. There were several all night sex shops opposite and near the hotel, although there were so many people around I didn't feel unsafe.

Very interesting hotel indeed as it was written in one of the pictures of the entrance (in German): enjoy the silence and style of an old time brothel :) But anyway it was nice, first hotel which had a mirror above the bed and adjustable lights. I had a room on the 4th floor facing back (the street might be a bit noisy), not too much of a view but make sure you get up before 8am (or draw the curtains) because it's facing some offices nearby. For 1-2 nights it's ok, if you need to leave early in the morning it would be better to pay the evening before because it's only one lady taking care of check-out and breakfast.

I wouldn't recommend for families

This is a little gem of a hotel which really is outstanding value for money. It is next to an s/u Bahn station and three or four minutes from the Central Station and the start of the main shopping streets. THe staff especially the gentleman who appeared to be the owner were exceptionally helpful and friendly, absolutely first class service with a real personal touch. The Village is a funky. Quirky place Every time we left or entered the hotel some other design feature caught our eye. The stairways, landings and walls all have lovely touches. Our room was a great size for this price range and beautifully designed with lovely colours and a lot of natural light. The glass fronted shower/bathroom was an interesting touch. Free tea and coffer is available 24/7 and cakes and croissants are thrown in. The breakfast was also excellent and although the buffet was more limited than in a 'big' hotel there was still a very good choice with some nice touches again like smoked salmon and tomatoes with fresh basil. This is as good value/money as you will ever get. Try it.

The stairs are very steep so the upper floors are maybe not suitable for those not fit for a climb. Otherwise a perfect little place.

The hotel and room we stayed in was individual and quirky in terms of style and design. It was in a good location near to the Hauptbhahnoff and the s and U-bahn for easy access to the city. The main centre wasonly a short walk. The staff were very friendly and helpful and more than willing to give recommendations and directions. They were also knowledgable about the city and able to give us tips about places that were not covered in the guidebooks.

We had some problems with heating in the room, but when informed about this it was rectified striaght away.

The Hotel was everything I expected. The Breakfast was fantastic. Great value for the price. The quirky Decor made it feel whimsical and fun. I loved the very friendly and super helpful staff, they made our stay great. I will definitely stay here when I go back to Hamburg.

Prima authentiek hotel met vriendelijke en behulpzame staf. Op een centrale lokatie van deze leuke stad.

Die Lage ist hervorragend, das Personal und hier besonders der Chef sind sehr freundlich und man fühlt sich sehr willkommen. Hilfreiche Tipps gibt es gratis. Das Zimmer war der Knaller, richtig plüschig aber auch mit viel Liebe zum Detail ausgestaltet. Für eine Städtereise genau das Richtige.
