We have been here in Sosua for one week.
We have been here in Sosua for one week. We stayed only two nights at Sosua Ocean Village after we canceled our Airbnb because it was horribly dirty. I do not feel this is a town for children. The ocean village is, but if you stay in Sosua and intend on going in to walk the city, etc, no. It's so busy, with random dogs and motorbikes and cars everywhere. The number of times we had to walk on the busy road over the sidewalk was countless.
Sosua Beaches waves are big, which is not a good place to swim. Playa Alicia was better, but there was lots of garbage washed up on the beach - tons of it. I don't know why it isn't cleaned up. You also have to pay to use the palapas and chairs. We had our own beach towels, so we did not take advantage. Sosua Beaches vendors hassle you a bit, and the prices are high. You should not pay more than 100 pesos - more like 50 for a fresh coconut. One vendor tried to charge me 300 pesos.
The restaurants are plentiful, and lots have great food and great prices. Take note of the two taxes they add! There is 18% tax and then a 10% tax that is a service tax = 28% TAX. I have read that this 10% does not all go to the server and can be kept by management or distributed amongst all staff, so be sure to leave a couple of extra dollars if the service is great.
The Ocean Village is beautiful, but where this condo is situated is not ideal. You want to be away from the workers coming in and all their loud motorbikes that they rev repeatedly. The ivory or peach condos would be better. We would never stay in this condo again based on its location. Good Luck!

Horrible, dirty, the rooms are old and dirty, the towels were broken, the toilet was not working, the floor was dirty and the bed was broken. Not to forget that the bed sheets were used. There was not water to shower and i felt like i was in prison or something similar

I have been to Sosua 5 times for the beach, Playa Alicia is my favorite. The restaurants were plentiful & all great and it is a very walkable town. The traffic is noisy and a bit dangerous but if you like local flavor its ok. There is an overwhelming amount of Prostitution, so not a good place for children. I wish it could be cleaned up because they have some of the best beaches I've ever seen.

Sosua has changed considerably over the past few years but it is still a good time with many things to do. The beach is very nice and the water is calm and clear and great for swimming. We ate at Mofongo King and also at Valero 108 and the food was delicious 😋

For the single male traveler who want s modern room close to everything, this is a perfect hotel. Price is a little high but the free bottled water and modern rooms help to overlook the price. Great location.
Hotel is in a central locality, no problems getting anywhere. Room was big, and the furnishings were kinda worn, but this is a budget hotel for the locality, so you more-or-less get what you can expect for the money. You sometimes had to wait a bit for the warm water, but the room had its own heater, and therefore it was enough to do the job. The breakfast is really top-notch, you can choose from multiple choices, and it gets prepared freshly for you - and in ample amounts, kudos to that!
I like the view and the location of this hotel. It is on "puntilla" last thing on a peninsula and therefore the view is really good and there is no noise of the traffic. If you're lucky and there are no noisy families, you can hear the sound of the ocean. The view from the seaside rooms and balconies is simply beautiful.
It has been a "palace" sometime in the past, now it is a bit like time travel with its own charm.
Wifi is good. Walking distance to the beaches, restaurants etc.
Perfect for us! Short walk to beautiful Alicia beach and restaurants/bars. Enjoyed afternoon at the clean pool with comfortable deck chairs. Great water pressure and hot water for showering. Beds were comfortable with nice bedsheets. Appreciated the spacious kitchen and loved the large counter with bar stools! Felt safe and secure. Some road traffic noise, but less than other places in Sosua.
Hotel is located in the middle of the action, though there is no noise at night. The staff is very friendly. The staff responsable for cleaning the rooms does a very good job. Overall the staff likes to smile a lot, so I felt really welcome. The poolview from the balcony was relaxing for the eyes. My stay was overall comfortable.
Hotel Europa is good for a one or two night stay. The Best thing about the stay is the bar out front owned by a beautiful Dominican woman named Ramona. The hotel is very out dated. It's location is a 10 minute walk to the center of the strip where all the action is. If they renovated Europa... it would be a great hotel.
I made a reservation because I always reserve a room at the same hotel, but this time it was different, I rented from an individual owner who had his own system and payment methods. The price was lower and the location of the hotel that was the only things I like it about the property.
Hosts Massimo and his wife are delightful - helpful, friendly and accommodating. They helped make our stay memorable. Room very nice and perfectly clean. No AC, but big fans and nice breeze from ocean. Short walk (15 - 20 min) to town and Sosua beach. Highly recommend. this property.
There's no hot tub in the room, The advertisement I saw was a hot tub in the room. the area is a little creepy but the facilities were good people were nice friendly and clean. there's a small Beach right next to the hotel you can walk to. They do have security, and a security gate
Pros:
Great location. Meters from Pedro Caliente and all the main spots in Sosua within 5 minutes. 10 min walk to beach. 10 min walk to supermarket.
Secure
Shared kitchen with utensils
Hot water
They rent scooters
No vendors in the immediate area begging for money
Location was great! Very close to the beach and the action but far enough where it was still peaceful. Ideal location and great food and prices at the hotel restaurant. Friendly staff and everything we needed.
Great location allowing an almost quiet night in the otherwise very noisy Sosua. Spacious and comfortable. With 15 liter watercooler for drinking water and big fridge. Great flat!
Good Location, private, and quiet. unless you planning to leave Sosúa Renting a car is a waste of money, Because Everything is within walking distance.
