The apartment was wonderful with a magnificent view of the Atlantic Ocean. Simon is a great host and was immensely helpful. Since the apartments are out of the way, you get a beautiful night sky with thousands of stars when the clouds play along. Thus, we did not mind being removed from restaurants etc. at all. Had the weather been better, I would have rented a telescope as I could not bring my own. La Palma's night sky is fantastic! The best dive sites are on the Southern tip of the island, which makes Los Quemados a convenient starting point.
