Charming Stone House in the Old Town
Located in the historic core of the city (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) this beautiful stone house with 2 apartments has been carefully renovated, contrasting the restored historical features of the house with modern amenities. Newly finished hard-wood floors & exposed stone work throughout. Cathedral View Apartment ("Superior Apartment") occupies floors 2-4 of the house, on the 2nd floor is an ample living room, new eat-in kitchen with original stone hearth and a new bathroom with walk-in shower. The living room, featuring original stone alcoves, has a large sofa bed, dining area, and wide-screen HDTV. The next floor of the house has 2 spacious bedrooms, one boasting views of the Cathedral, king-size bed, plus a single bed. The top floor is a sunny open loft space (low ceilings) serving as a bedroom with 3 individual beds. Casco Antiguo Apartmento ("Apartment") occupies the 1st floor of the house. It has a spacious kitchen, bathroom with bathtub/shower and accommodates 4 persons in a joint living room/bedroom with queen bed and double sofa bed. For larger groups, we recommend renting the whole house (both apartments) so you can have two bathrooms & kitchens and lots of space!
Guests will enjoy free wi-fi and a new heating and air conditioning system. Note that there is NO elevator, access to the different floors of the house is via the stairs. As this is a house and not a hotel, there is no reception desk or staff constantly at the property - guests are kindly asked to coordinate their approximate arrival time with us in advance, so a member of our team will be available to meet with you at the property. Check-in is from 16:00-22:00 and check-out is from 8:00-10:00, late check-in/early check out is subject to a 25 euro fee. Please note that there is no bicycle storage allowed on the property or inside the apartments and we do not have left-luggage service, however there are luggage and bicycle storage facilities available close to the house.
Situated in the heart of the monumental district on one of the most well-known streets of Santiago – just step outside the house and you will be enveloped in the history of the city. Follow the way of St. James to it's final destination: the renowned pilgrimage site of the Catedral de Santiago. Wander the lively stone streets under arcades and through enchanting passageways, through beautiful parks and secluded cloisters, to discover the many wonders of the city. As you go for a stroll you can enjoy typical music of the region offered by musicians on the surrounding streets and plazas. An amazing array of restaurants, cafes, shops, museums, bars, markets are just outside the door so you can easily sample the vibrant life of this city! If you fancy a day trip, Galicia offers destinations galore: from exploring big cities and charming towns, to trekking through mountain trails and virgin forests, visiting solitary lighthouses atop dramatic sea-side cliffs or soaking in the sun on the coast's unspoilt beaches – you can have it all within about a half hour's drive. If you have your own car, a public parking garage is just 2 minutes from the house under the Plaza de Galicia.
