By far, one of the best resorts on Menorca - a long-term favourite with a wide range of attractions just a short car journey, bus ride or walk away. Extremely popular destination for British/French families and couples. Something for everyone with three major, well-appointed hotels (Minura Cala Galdana, Meliá Cala Galdana and ARTIEM Audax adults only) and many comfortable/affordable apartments.

I had read in several guide books that Cala Galdana was too built-up and commercialized, but we did not find that. The town is very small and not too crowded and the beach was great. Bus service there, however, is quite limited. Much better to have a car.

Cala Galdana is a small resort and there is a limited choice...
Cala Galdana is a small resort and there is a limited choice of places to eat and drink and its not great value for money compared to when we visited Cuitadella and noticed how much cheaper it was there.
There are only a couple of small supermarkets so if you want a 'big' shop for self catering you would have to venture to Cuitadella (about 30 minutes away) by bus or taxi.
There seems to be a mosquito problem as all 4 of us were bitten quite badly - this seemed to be in the evenings when out in the restaurants / bars.
The beach is beautiful and it is worth renting the sunbed and umbrella for a lovely relaxing day. You are however allowed to put your towel and own umbrella on the beach. We hired a self drive boat for a couple of hours which was good fun. Its worth taking your snorkel and mask as the bay is shallow and there are lots of fish.

As above we think that there are better places to stay in Menorca for couples, but Cala Galdana is hard to beat for its reasonably priced accommodation and range of facilities.
As I have coeliac disease and must eat gluten free it was good to have cooking facilities and to find most restaurants had no trouble providing suitable meals.

A nice beach, ideal for families.
A nice beach, ideal for families. The water is usually very calm and it doesn't get deep for a while.
It is especially fun because two of the islands most beautiful beaches are also in walking distance. Even our 5-year-old was able to walk there on his own. Sadly, it seems to be a thing for women to be topless at the beach, especially at those you have to walk to. That was pretty awkward.
Unfortunately, there was a storm one night. The river that runs from inland into the bay, made the whole bay turn into a brown pawn for two days.
The town hasn't very much charm to offer. But it has a selection of restaurants and some stores. Sadly, they allowed the Melia hotel group to build a really big hotel right by the beach. It really isn't nice to look at.
We rented a paddle boat with a slide for an hour. That was great fun for the whole family. We would recommend doing that.

Fabulous place for anyone with or without children.
Fabulous place for anyone with or without children. Perfect facilities- clean - plenty of lovely places to eat and drink. Stunning views. Supermarkets if self catering and ideal if you wanted to stay self catering, hotel or villa. Would definitely return
Everything. The property is just beautiful, amazingly located and Sebastián is super nice, welcoming and helpful. Staying at Can Pons was like a dream, watching the stunning sunsets from the terrace and enjoying the wonderful swimming pool. It is all surrounded by lush trees and there's lots of birds so it feels like you are in the middle of the woods. You can also see the water of Cala Galdana from the terrace, which adds to the already brilliant views. We would definitely go back anytime.
Excellent breakfast, very friendly staff, really nice kids club staff who made the children feel at ease (our children loved the club and staff who ran it), great pool and good location (although Cala Galdana beach was very disappointing this year because of the incredibly dirty water, so much litter in the sea, and extensive algae). There is a good mix of nationalities and the hotel never seems overly busy. The restaurant area has been refurbished and looks really nice.
Central to Cala Galdana, a cute small town on the southern Menorca coast. Cala Mitjana is a short 20 minute hike and ended up being my favorite beach in the Balearics. Pool was nice to lounge at. Loved the breakfast buffet. I liked this area because it’s pretty much in the middle of Ciutadella and Mahon, making it a good choice if you plan to explore the whole island.
Perfect location less than 5 minutes walk from Cala Galdana beach.
Large apartment with everything well thought of. Very large terrace with sea view, partly in the sun and partly in the shade.
Excellent equipment including details like parasols, a pharmacy, some basic food products (oil, coffee, etc.), washing powder...
Easy communication with nice owner.
Location was great, many super markets nearby for breakfast, they do their own bread among many other options. Cala Galdana is great as well, one of the few beaches with parking "nearby" (many others you have to walk/hike 20+ minutes). Many good restaurants for dinner as well. Bed was big and comfy. Parking on the street was easy and free.
Very friendly and caring staff, good food and amazing location - next to cala galdana and a 30 minute walk from Cala macarella & macarelleta.
Clean room and very nice view from the pool and from the hotels bar “The View”.
Maybe a bit overpriced, but was willing to pay as the staff were always very nice.
Bonavista apartments are beautiful spotlessly clean and comfortable. They all have fantastic views looking down to cala galdana where you can spent the day swimming in the torquoise sea.
Perfect for families who like us prefer our own space rather than a hotel. Can't wait to return next year!
The location is suberb! Right on top of Cala Galdana with a path of 50 stairs and 200mts right to the beach. The appartment is really cosy and Menorcan style! The owner let us do a late check out! Great value for money! :)
I have already filled one of these out. The staff are brilliant and the hotel is in the perfect location, have been several times in the past. The real issue is the lack of space in the rooms and some without balconies.
Location was great, shops, beach restaurants within walking distance. Air conditioning in bedrooms. Pool perfect for little ones. Different areas suitable for different times of day. Very private.
The buffet breakfast had a wide variety of options and the staff was always a pleasure! The hotel is close to Cala Galdana beach which is beautiful and the hotel has wonderful views.
Everything in the hotel is very clean and tidy. The staff are nice and the location is perfect! I really enjoyed my time there! It’s a very good hotel to stay.
