Experience a touch of northern magic and meet reindeer at Finland's southernmost reindeer park in Nuuksio! A unique accommodation in handcrafted igluhuts which are made from natural materials. The design is unique combining the centuries-old shingle technology with modern knowledge and craftwork. You can feed reindeer directly from the hut window. The igluhuts are located in the middle of Nuuksio National Park, 30 km / 30 min from Helsinki city center and from HEL airport. The location is conveniently accessible directly to the wilderness around. Marked nature trails are just around the corner. Bicycles can be rented on-site, breakfast or evening snack basket can be ordered in advance.
Our family company has organized nature programs in Nuuksio National Park since 1994. We are committed to follow the Finnish State Forest Enterprise's Principles of Sustainable Tourism. Our private reindeer park established at 2012. Neighboring the National Park, the location is conveniently accessible directly to the wilderness around.
Nuuksio National Park: Experience real wilderness on Helsinki's doorstep. Nuuksio's varied landscapes include valleys and gorges carved out during the Ice Age, and rugged rocky hills the overlook leafy woodlands and shady spruce forests. The park's forests are dotted with more than 80 small lakes and ponds. Visitors can easily find their way around Nuuksio's hiking trails, and freely pick wild berries and mushrooms. Trails are particularly well-marked around Haukkalampi area. Nuuksio National Park forms the heart of an extensive area of unspoiled forests with rich flora and fauna. The Finnish Nature Centre HALTIA is worth visiting. Exhibition and event centre, experience the whole Finland's nature in Haltia, 1 km from the Igluhuts.
