Vakanananu Retreat is proudly fully powered by solar energy and runs completely on rainwater - to have a minimal impact on the local and global environment. However, fans, lights, fridge and all other electronics are no problem. We now have a small rainforest restaurant on the property (opened March 2023) for guests to enjoy special farm to table meals with most of the produce coming from the gardens at Vakanananu. **Tropical breakfast from local produce is included as well as airport pick up, free wifi and a mobile phone for local calls** Local shops and markets are nearby if you need anything extra however there are a few local restaurants and a nearby cafe that are definitely worth visiting. Vakanananu Retreat has a separate private residence for the owners. The Guest Bures are given privacy at all times however there will always be someone available for any questions or assistance. There is a dog and 2 cats at the owners property as is common in Taveuni and we are lucky to have roaming wildlife such as farm animals, roosters and horses on occasions! This is part of life in Fiji which makes it very special.

Vakanananu Retreat is a private luxury eco-resort up in the hills on the beautiful island of Taveuni. You can enjoy the privacy of a private villa with the amenities of a resort. The heart of the house in the one-bedroom villa is a large kitchen and living area and it is one of the most modern kitchens you will find here in Taveuni so it’s ideal for all food lovers and people who love cooking. Other amenities are full gas stove, fridge with freezer, high speed blender (great for fresh tropical smoothies), toaster and ceiling fans. In the bedroom there is a comfortable queen size bed with full size closet. There is an en-suite bathroom in addition to a spacious walk in wet room with a hot water rainfall shower. The villa features a large covered deck with bar, dining and chill out area to enjoy a morning yoga session or beautiful ocean and sunset views with a cocktail in your hand. The two bed villa hosts a small kitchenette perfect for making coffee, cold drinks and has a small gas hob for making light meals. The ceilings are traditional Fijian open ceilings up to the rafters to help with natural airflow throughout the two bedrooms and living area. The wonderful deck is the perfect place to unwind, dine and enjoy the view. All our guests have access to the entire property with a big garden and plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. A welcome basket of fresh produce and kitchen staples are provided upon arrival. Free kayaks, snorkelling gear, Yoga mats, hammocks and books are all available. Daily housekeeping and Wi-Fi is also included in the daily rate.

Tours can also be arranged to the famous Bouma Waterfalls, Lavena Coastal Walk, Natural Waterslide or Taveuni's Dateline where you can jump from one day to the next! Birdwatching tours, diving and fishing can also be arranged at a time to suit you.
