Just the most beautiful location…. And the evening meal was absolutely astonishing!! All produce sourced locally and from the garden, it was one of the best meals I have ever had.

Set in superb and verdant grounds at the foot of the Pyrenees, the Château D’Orion offers a peaceful backdrop for a relaxing holiday and charming accommodations. The renovated rooms at the Château offer spacious and elegant living spaces, and modern comforts while retaining their original, period charm. They are all equipped with fully fitted private bathrooms. Various events are regularly held in the old barn, such as readings and lectures. The salon, fully equipped for your meetings and a rustic room with a large, open fireplace are available upon request. Upon prior request, lunch and dinner can be served. They are prepared with local produce and vegetable from the castle's own garden,

"I love your house which bears the name of a star." Henri de Régnier At this wonderful place called Orion, a Château was built in the 17th century. In the 18th and 19th century the house has been enlarged and extended. The house and the nearby church have built the core of the little village up to the present day. The ensemble with barn and annex is constructed in a typical béarnaise style readily identifiable because of the distinctive roof and the stone framed windows. With lots of passion and great attention to detail the guestrooms of Château d’Orion were renovated a few years ago and now all rooms are individually themed. At the moment of entering, you feel the distinctive character of the house which bears many stories to discover. The stylish rooms are equipped with antique furniture of different eras and modern bathrooms. They retain the flair of yesterday and create a feeling of well-being with up-to-date comfort for high demands.
Château d'Orion is not just a guesthouse, it’s main ethos is a meeting place based on the German-French friendship. Since the year 2005 there have been many different events happening in the Château, i.e. readings, lectures and the "weeks of reflection" on philosophical, economic or political topics. A small team of dedicated employees and volunteers is working here on site in France as well as in Germany to implement the concepts and ideas. The team of Château d’Orion is looking forward to welcome you all year around!
Château d’Orion is located in the south west of France between Biarritz and Pau. This is the place where the Pyrenees are Atlantic, where culture and nature as well as surfers and pilgrims meet. The Béarn is historically important but rather hidden from the spotlight this present day. Nonetheless, it is a rich cultural landscape which is very interesting to discover.
