Chez Scallan B&B/Chambres d'hotes is a solid 2 storey village house in a small village in the Burgundy-Franche Comte region. It was built in 1880 and is surrounded by gardens, with a large barn (suitable for parking bikes/motorbikes) and a shady terrace for summer evenings. Please Note: If you (or your dog!) have limited mobility or difficulty with stairs, all of our rooms are located on the upper floor of the house and the stairs are quite steep!
We are John and Carolyn Scallan, and we have been living here in Sens-sur-Seille since 2003. We both love to cook and offer an evening meal (by prior request only!), and we are both very interested in wine and also offer - when possible - wine tours and wine tastings with some of our many winemaking friends.
The Bresse region, the main name for this area, is not only famous for its poultry but also for its unique wildlife areas, and its proximity to both the Burgundy and Jura vineyards. There are fascinating mediaeval towns with famous markets, chateaux, rivers, lakes and canals. We are within easy reach of Chalon sur Saone, Dijon, Beaune, Besancon, Lons le Saunier, Bourg en Bresse, Lyon, Geneva... and at roughly half way between the English Channel and the Med, the ideal place for an overnight stop!
