The hotel was beautiful and charming, and the food was great. The room had everything we needed and the building has so much character. It was lovely sitting on the curbside cafe section they had and watching the people of the town go by.

I introduced this beautiful region to my wife and a befriended couple from Denmark and decided to book a 2 nights weekend getaway at the Hotel Val Vignes in St. Hippolyte.
The hotel itself is beautiful and so is the location. The service of the frontdesk team and all the employees we encountered is magnificent. We enjoyed every interaction with them. Beeing it pre- and afterdinner drinks, bike rental, wine storage; everything was great, and as mentioned, the staff is superb. The only disappointment was the actual room. We booked the Premium category, but the room didn't look at all as displayed. We had a parking view and the room was just OK. A bummer as it didn't match the overall wonderful experience we encountered at this exceptional hotel. Also, the room cleaning was not up to standard. Dirty towels (we put on the floor) were taken but not exchanged. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel, but we would ensure we will get an appropriate room per booked category when visiting again.

Pache de Vigne is a hidden gem off the beaten path. Unique with great spa facilities. Very peaceful and relaxing. Right on the Alsace wine trail with proximity to both Colmar and Strasbourg.
A charming Alsace town surrounded by vines and farms.
A charming Alsace town surrounded by vines and farms. The town was a little quiet in August but we visited a lovely bar - Darwin for drinks. It is a small town so not difficult to get around with plenty of amenities. We ate at the hotel but there were other options.
Location was excellent, the small town of Chatenois near the yearly gemstone/mineral fair in Saint-Marie-aux-mines that we wanted to attend. Chatenois has several lovely restaurants and hotels, all within minutes walking distance of Chez Madeleine. We enjoyed that very much! The space itself was unusual in a good way (very old traditional fachwerk house renovated to be up to date), both cozy and roomy and well-outfitted for the purpose, excellent shower, kitchenette, airco.
The location was perfect for us enroute to Italy. The staff were all friendly, super helpful and looked after us really well. The room was perfectly sized for a family of 4 and allowed us to rest properly. Breakfast was traditional with some lovely bread and pastries as well as excellent coffee and local jams. We left the hotel having enjoyed ourselves and feeling refreshed.
The Auberge is in the town of Chatenois which has attractive half timbered houses with the plaster panels in a variety of colours (pink in the case of the Auberge), as well as the remains of a town wall, vineyards, a market etc.. It is also on the GR5 / E2 long distance path on which I was hiking. Lady in charge was full of life.
Beautiful hotel. Extremely clean and comfortable. Spacious room. Modern/updated bathroom. Free parking very short walk from the hotel. Near by restaurants and small market. Safe. Good internet speed. Beautifully appointed common area. Exceptional breakfast. Super friendly reception. Highly recommend this lovely hotel.
It was a very nice stay! The family-run hotel is lovely and the hotel owner a very friendly person. The little town is also beautiful. The breakfast was exceptional - one of the best hotel breakfasts I have ever had. If I ever come back to this area and need a hotel, I will choose Auberge Le Meisenberg again.
Great hotel in the middle of the town, but it was surprisingly quiet! The room was spacious, as was the rest of the hotel. Everything was clean -- even the common areas and hallways. The staff were incredibly friendly and spoke both French, German, and a little English.
The hotel was beautiful and charming, and the food was great. The room had everything we needed and the building has so much character. It was lovely sitting on the curbside cafe section they had and watching the people of the town go by.
We had a lovely stay here in Châtenois. Very clean, recently renovated rooms. There is a restaurant here in a lovely courtyard. We did not stay for dinner but the breakfast was delicious with homemade yogurts and jams.
We love this hotel and stay every year as we drive across Europe. The staff are delightful. The restaurant for both dinner and breakfast are great! We look forward to our next stay. Thank you
