We loved the size of Kaysersberg. It was a spacious town without the crowd of Colmar. There were several excellent restaurants, a renowned pottery shop, a historic church, and even castle ruins to climb to. Above the castle ruins there is a path for hiking--we didn't bring the right shoes. I highly recommend use of the Kutzig bus to visit the nearby towns. It is an open air bus with a scheduled route, fairly priced, and with an easy app! We visited 4 of the 8 towns, based on our time schedule, was able to sip some wine, and not have to drive a mile. We were the only patrons on the bus when we rode. It is a missed opportunity to not support this business. Good wine abounds as does the scenery! Kaysersberg was the best choice for us!!
Nice old small Alsace town close to everything in Alsace, such as vineyards, mountains and Colmar. Not much shopping and no night life, but nice for relaxing in a quiet and nice old Alsatian town. Try the local typical tarte flambée. Better than pizza. I think this town is more suited for middle age to senior couples than younger guys. But, if you, like us, want to be active as well doing some road bike tours in the mountains this is the place in Alsace.
The view from the castle is stunning as it looks over the vineyards and town. I found the longer path through the vineyard to be easier than the shorter path of stairs at the other end of the village.
Kayserberg is a very picturesque town, popular with sightseers, that still retains its traditional Alsace character. There are quaint streets to wander down, shops to browse, and a ruined castle to climb up to. There are plenty of places to enjoy a good meal or just a drink. And the geranium ice cream is highly recommended! Kayserberg makes a great centre for a holiday in Alsace, with Colmar nearby and plenty of other towns, vineyards, and museums to visit. A little further away the incredible Cite de l'Automobile is worth the journey. You have never seen so many breath taking cars! If you want fresh air and exercise then walking and cycling in the the picturesque Vosges is hard to beat. It's the perfect base for a holiday in the Alsace.
Stayed overnight. KLE Hotel Ok, well located, but coffee awful, coffee machine didn’t work, and congested breakfast area. Kaysersberg is very attractive with a range of restaurants. Have stayed before, out of high season, when it is less crowded. We were disappointed to hear that Monsieur Stoll’s Vineyard is closing.
Kayserberg is a delightful place which has been preserved to maintain it's character. The buildings are beautiful. There are lots of shops to browse and some of the goods are very up market. There is a supermarket just outside the bottom end of town for ordinary shopping. Kayserberg is well organised for tourists with a big car park a few metres from each end of town keeping the centre mostly traffic free. We got a free parking pass with our accommodation. We used the excellent new jump on jump off minibus service to tour round the wine villages and get to Colmar. We were glad we stayed in Kayserberg and visited overcrowded Colmar rather than the other way round. We ate well in the plentiful restaurants with only one being rather poor quality. The rest were very good. .
Kaysersberg
Situation fantastic, in the middle of the charming village of Alsace. Cute decoration. It was like living in the typical Alsacian house for a few days. View of the castle from the window. Nice restaurent and bakeries nearby, yet it was very quiet. The owner answered right away and came driving to give me the key. She gave me the macaron for parking the car outside of the old town, 5 mins walk from the hotel. The shopowners nearby were also very helpful.
Kaysersberg
Lovely apartment, with three bedrooms, and a very large living room & dining area. Nice location, quiet and walkable to beautiful Kaysersberg. Especially nice also for young children, as path to downtown was cyclable & scootable. The owners were super nice, making sure we have everything to feel comfortable! They even found a doctor's appointment for us - a great help since we could not speak French!
Kaysersberg
I spent 5 nights in this wonderful location. Everything was perfect, the room very well equipped, the bed comfortable and a generous balcony from where you could enjoy a glass of Alsatian wine and admire the view. The guest house is a short and beautiful walk from the center of Kaysersberg, on the banks of a river. Marcia was great in giving us all the information for a wonderful vacation.
Kaysersberg
A very nicely decorated 2 floor apartment with all the comforts of home. On the Main Street but quiet at night with a breezy back terrace for drinks before dinner. We stayed with a child and the apartment was well equipped but would also suit a couple. Everything you need (washing machine, full kitchen etc.) and also steps away from restaurants (and a craft brewery!)
Wonderful room, wonderful staff and excellent location. Breakfast is also excellent and very good value for money. It was our second time in the hotel and we will be back soon for another stay as it is the perfect basecamp for that whole wonderful area.
