Welcome to "La Chamade" and its 40 m2 family suite for 4 people, on the seafront. La Chamade is located at 14 km from Granville, in the Bay of the world-famous Mont-St-Michel.  The suite is on the first floor. It includes a two bedrooms duplex. The main bedroom is equipped with a king size 160×200 bed (new bedding), and a flat screen TV (TNT and DVD) and free wifi. The second 10 m2 bedroom is equipped with two 90×190 beds. The beds are made on your arrival. A bathroom for the duplex has a comfortable 120 cm shower, a WC, a baby area and soap is available.   A breakfast is prepared every morning in the dining room, equipped with a microwave a variety of dishes, a coffee maker, a kettle, and a fridge (the kitchen remains private). You can also enjoy the terrace and the closed one hectare garden where you can park your car. You are welcome to picnic in the garden.  Hiking trails pass next to the fences of the garden, beach is at walking distance though the fields of by the streets at less than a mile away. You can use our family beach cabin to store beach items for the duration of your stay.
Our house is located in the middle of the cliffs, on the edge of GR. The calm is absolute except the sound of the wind and the sea when it is high. Coming from the family of one of the painters and watercolorist of the region (Jacques Simon), you will be able to find his environment as well as all the landscapes found on the canvases. We wish to share this environment and make you discover, the pleasures of the walks on the way of the customs and the valley of the painters, the fishing on foot, the picnics on the beach, the crossing on foot of the Mont Saint Michel, the Chausey Islands. We also have two cats Toulouse and Papageno, and because of this, we regret to be unable to accommodate other animals.
The MONT-SAINT-MICHEL is about 40 km from our place (35 min drive). Walking across the bay will make you discover quicksand. Playing with quicksand is always an unforgettable experience. On the West side of the bay is CANCALE (80 kms) and its oyster beds, SAINT MALO (88 kms) with its ramparts and its aquarium. Driving North will lead you to the Normandy landing beaches of the D-day (100 kms): Utah beach, Omaha beach etc. The youngest will appreciate the Champrepus Zoo on the way to Villedieu les Poêles or the Alligator Bay, a reptile center on the way to the Mont Saint Michel. In Avranches, the Scriptorial is a museum that cares for old manuscripts, some as ancient as XIIe century illuminated Cartulaire of the Mont Saint Michel.Gourmet menus with seafood can be enjoyed at La Pause de Genêt or in Le Phare in Granville. Jazz lovers will appreciate several festivals. "Jazz sous les pommiers" takes place during the feast of Ascention in Coutances. "Jazz en Baie”, end of July, takes place in several touristic places such as Carolles. This festival gathers 300 musicians for 50 concerts with over 25.000 spectators. The Lucerne Abbey proposes a classic music Festival mid July.
