The cottage is very cozy and well equipped. Just enough cooking materials for almost all cooking needs. The adjacent yard is lovely and the location in the village is great (very quiet). The village itself is beautiful, though there are no services. The owner is ABSOLUTLY accommodating and always available to answer questions or address needs.

A cosy rustic stone cottage nestling in a beautiful rose filled garden. The walled village is over 800 years old and has many beautiful features. La Chaumière is an "all in one" dwelling, the sleeping area located up a little staircase on to a mezzanine. The whole area feels spacious though, and there are various places outside to sit and enjoy the lovely views. I have a few chickens who will, hopefully, provide you with fresh eggs and I also have two friendly dogs. You have your own entrance and parking. A recently installed wood burner provides you with heating in the winter months, making the property very cosy and romantic!! A basket of wood is provided on arrival, and thereafter available to buy.
I recently left my job as cabin crew with a major airline, and decided to live here full time. My many years experience holds me in good stead to understand the needs and requirements to make your holiday a good one. I am very easy going and relaxed and enjoy meeting new people and sharing the odd glass of wine - of course!!
This is an area of beauty, surrounded by forests and vineyards. Many hiking trails to be found and the famous Lot vineyard cycle trail is only a few kms from here. The river Lot wends its way nearby with boat trips and canoeing available. Two large lakes not far away provide swimming, pédalos etc A great tourist area, lots to see and do if you wish or just a great place to relax and unwind. In the summer months I run a small rustic café in my barn, with light lunches, home made cakes, wine, coffees etc The pretty village of Duravel, with well stocked épicerie and boulangerie, is just 10 minutes away by car. July and August we have the food market every Friday evening in the church square. Some very nice restaurants within 15 mins of the village, and always good local markets to visit. Montcabrier is a beautiful, peaceful and quiet village where you can unwind and relax and listen to the owls and forest creatures at night. A perfect place for a romantic getaway!
