Newly weds Paul and Daniel recently moved from Hong Kong to Cordes sur Ciel in Tarn department and moved into Le Chevalier Noir in May 2018. Daniel has a degree in hotel management and has worked in some of the world’s finest hotels. Paul has no relevant qualifications whatsoever, other than a burning passion for France, gastronomy and the countryside of the Tarn region he fell in love thirty five years ago as a student on an 8 month placement in South West France. Their first season received rave reviews on Trip Advisor where they are already rated as one of the best B and B’s in Cordes sur Ciel. Your hosts guarantee you a warm welcome and the knowledge and connections to ensure you get the most out of relaxing in our terraced garden and by the lovely pool or exploring this lesser know corner of France. Daniel and Paul look forward to welcoming you.

Le Chevalier Noir is a haven of peace and beauty, nestling on the northern slopes of a sublimely beautiful medieval hill top village. Close to bars, restaurants, shops, galleries and artisans of all kind, stepping though the ornate wrought iron gates of Le Chevalier Noir one is transported to a spectacular and seemingly isolated rural location, enjoying sweeping views of the Cerou valley and the low hills beyond. The ever changing bucolic vista, which even the best photographs cannot fully capture, fills us and our guests with a joy and wonder that always surpasses their expectations. If you are looking to destress and relax our terraced gardens and lovely pool will offer you the chance to unwind to the sounds of nature with only the tolling of the village bells to connect to the slow trickle of time. For those who want to be more active and explore there are a host of sporting, cultural and gastronomic opportunities. Your hosts enjoy nothing more that ensuring that your stay at Le Chevalier Noir provides you with precisely the experiences you are looking for.

The region surrounding Cordes sur Ciel is strikingly beautiful, with our first season guests making frequent comparisons to areas as diverse as the Cotswolds in England to Italy's Tuscanny. Like Tuscany, the Tarn is a rural region of rolling hills, forests, vineyards and sunflower fields region dotted with delightful ancient villages. The fascinating village of Cordes sur Ciel itself needs to be experienced in different ways and at different times of day. If you are lucky and conditions permit your host will alert you to the morning mists that gather in the valley and when viewed from above create the magical impression that the citadel is floating on a sea of cloud. Our guests have enjoyed the terraced gardens and spectacular pool but most have taken advantage of the multitude of activities available be they sporting, gastronomic or cultural.
