A bright and open one bedroom apartment with own entrance and parking space. A fully equipped kitchen with a convection microwave oven and an induction hob , coffee machine, kettle and toaster. An undercounter fridge with an small freezer compartment. Fully furnished dining and lounge area. A wall-mounted SMART TV with popular apps. Private terrace with a coal BBQ and access to the garden. A pond, meadow and walnut grove provide the perfect environment for the local fauna and flora. A 12m x 6m pool, sun loungers with parasols, solar shower and Wi-Fi access provide a relaxing stay. The bedroom has a double bed and built in wardrobe. An ensuite shower room with power point for hairdryer (supplied). The main window has shutters for those who prefer a darkened room at night, or for a daytime rest. New for 2024 season is a pétanque court for guest to enjoy.
Hi, we are Tracey and David and for the past 10 years we have been building our dream of living in France by visiting most school holidays and exploring the different areas this beautiful country has to offer. We fell in love with the Dordogne quite early on and decided that was where we would settle. In May 2020 we decided to take the leap and sold up in the UK and moved over here on November 1st, 2020, just in time for lockdown, making property buying a bit tricky! Le Malpas was meant to be! A few minutes from beautiful Belvès and with its own pond and stream bordering the property. Around 2.5 acres of land and our nearest neighbours about 500m away means we have the privacy we always wanted but without feeling completely isolated. I have carried on teaching online but as we had always said we would have holiday accommodation as a business and with David's extensive home renovation experience, here we are, ready to welcome guests for our third season. Families should be aware that we have an open, unfenced pond and garden. We are looking forward to hosting guests from all corners of the world!
The Boulangerie Pâtisserie is within a 15 minute walk from the apartment and are well known locally for their delicious pastries and breads. A couple of minutes drive to Belvès, one of France’s most beautiful villages, renowned for its seven bell towers and its troglodyte caves. The village offers bars, restaurants, a variety of independent shops and a very good wine shop. In Belvès the weekly market on a Saturday morning provides fresh seasonal local produce. On Sunday, Saint-Cyprien, only a 15 minute drive away offers the same but with added Brocante type stalls. There is a large choice of supermarkets in the local area. Nearby there are plenty of other spectacular towns and villages to visit, including Sarlat-la-Canéda, la Roque-Gageac, Beynac, Domme, Monpazier and Saint-Cyprien to mention a few. The Dordogne river itself – a great place to try kayaking – is also just a short drive away. For keen golfers there are two golf-courses less than 10minutes away, that offer an 18 hole and a 9 hole course. Hot air balloon rides are available from nearby Beynac or Laroque Gageac as well as Castelnaud-la-Chapelle which offer stunning views of the castles along the Dordogne.
