Lovely setting, just a short walk to the village of Giverny on Rue Claude Monet. We liked staying in a small, intimate B & B, and enjoyed staying in the spacious “Soleil Levant” room.

Giverny, this tiny village, at the door of Normandy from Paris, stretches out along the river Seine banks and brings together the sights of visit in the center, focused on the Claude Monet’s House and Gardens. More than 600.000 visitors in 7 months, with a peak period in May and June, during which bloom explodes. Attracted by light and by his passion of painting the landscape outdoors, he settled in Giverny. This memorial property is the final resting place of C. Monet until his death in 1926. The guest house “Les Coquelicots” (Poppies) was privileged to see the return of poppies every year in May. It has the double advantage of being within walking distance of museums (5 min) and away from the tourist flow , causing a surprising and significant contrast.
My passion is all that contributes to the well-being! I love nature and flowers , banal, yes ! but with a vital intensity. Having held positions in museums in Giverny in contact with our visitors, I was looking for a retirement project and the creation of a guest house struck me as obvious! For the future, my guests will appreciate .
Near the B & B, is the mayor and the village school. Follow me ! You walk down to the left, the Musée des Impressionnismes appears , then the Claude Monet’s House and gardens. Rue C. Monet, you will find restaurants, shops, art galleries, antiques, artisanal bread bakery. Also a stop at the museum of natural mechanical, opposite the town hall, the passion of an inhabitant and the restaurant of the former Hotel Baudy with its park and its old rose garden, then push the walk to the church Ste Radegonde and the C. Monet’s tomb. Do not leave without a walk in the village or on the hillside with its hiking trails or a morning jog . Art, Culture, Tourism and Nature in the same place, welcome!
