I visited this city second time because of trip to Artouste.
I visited this city second time because of trip to Artouste. You have to stay in Pau. I was travelling by train. It is very pity that there is no coordination between train and bus connection. I mean public transport. Especially if you want to travel to Artouste from Bayonne par example. It is not possible to combine the different transport and to change plans of the trip because of weather.

Pau is a charming small city near the Pyrenees.
Pau is a charming small city near the Pyrenees. It's a 90 minute drive to the Atlantic Ocean. There is a lovely chateau and an art museum in the heart of the old city. Architecture is similar to the turn of the century Paris. Les Halles is a covered permanent market place where vendors sell their food items 6 days a week. The way the produce, fish, cheeses etc are displayed is worth seeing, Lots of restaurants. I don't think of it as a destination location, but a great place to visit for a couple of days.
Very nice hotel in a great location. The hotel has been updated very nicely with an outstanding lounge and breakfast room. Our room was quite small but still nice. It would be worth upgrading to a larger room. The hotel is very clean and well managed and the staff were professional and friendly. They serve drinks in the lounge in the evenings which was very nice on a rainy night. We didn't have the breakfast but did have coffee in the breakfast room in the morning which was very pleasant. A good choice for a stay in Pau.
We loved our stay at this hotel under the new
Management. Everything was done to make our stay enjoyable. Immaculate and charming rooms, a beautiful breakfast and the luxury of private parking right in the center of town.
Location could not have been better to access
The great shops and incredible variety of restaurants and cafes all within the immediate area
Of the hotel.
5 minute walk to the cafes on the Boulevard des Pyrénées and 10 minutes to the Chateau.
A perfect hotel to see Pau!
Very convenient location in the center, close to everything, the building dates back to 1910, so don’t expect modern furnishings, but the room was surprisingly spacey and everything was clean and comfy. The receptionist - Sonia - was very helpful, friendly and professional. Breakfast was nice with a very pleasant staff. All in all, I had a very nice one-night stay, and if I ever find myself in Pau in the future, I will stay in BW again.
Villa Dampiere is a lovely colonial-style house close to the centre of Pau. The owners do everything to make you welcome and provide an excellent breakfast with croissants, home-made jams etc. The rooms are large and comfortable - ours was air conditioned, which was nice as the weather was hot. The shower was nice and warm with a good flow rate (important - I've suffered under many a weak shower).
Good size room, beds so comfortable,
Breakfast was basic but it was better than nothing.
Not too far from Pau train station about €15 by taxi. We stayed over to watch a rugby game at Stade Hameau Stadium, 10mins walk from the hotel.
Hotel is safe and secured in the night. Gates closed and locked in the night with security guard that control the gate.
Staffs working there are really nice and helpful. Hotel building is quite old but room is renovated. Location is a bit away from the center with about 40mins walk but there's bus right in front of the hotel. There are supermarkets, pharmacy and bakery near by. Room is a bit small but it's very clean and comfortable with a kettle and coffee/tea.

The breakfast was excellent - big selection of delicious breakfast items, including gluten free items we requested. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Would happily stay there again and will look for Ibis hotels in the future.
We have stayed at the Quality Hotel Pau on two previous occasions and have never been disappointed. The staff are very friendly and efficient, breakfast facilities are very good, catered by a charming woman. Parking is secure and free. Accommodation is of a good standard.
The location is absolutely fabulous 👌 Right in the centre of town, with an exit straight onto the Boulevard des Pyrénées. We went to Pau for the Classic Grand Prix and this was the perfect location, right near the track. We'll book ahead for another year's Grand Prix!
Splendid, spacious accommodation in the centre of Pau, including a fully equipped kitchenette for those who might prefer to self-cater. I thoroughly enjoyed the varied and wholesome breakfast. Members of staff were lovely.
The hotel was in a good location for an over night stop. He owner was very friendly and spoke good English. He made us feel very welcome. The room clean and the bedding was good quality cotton. It was dog friendly too.
Good hotel with, for us at least, a spacious room. Free private parking on a spacious spot included. Very helpful and friendly staff. Good location, a short walk from the centre.
A clean, decent room, very good for a short stay, and for a reasonable price. Free parking outside the hotel. The bus stop nearby if you want to visit the city centre.
Hotel in centre of town. Paid underground, very close by basically exit the carpark onto the square.
Lots restaurants nearby, walk to everything . Very central
