What makes the Relais de Poste so unusual? First, it's totally cammouflaged in a non-descript facade. But behind the humble exterior is a marvelous jewel of a vacation apartment - spacious, with full sized EVERYTHING! The best part is the sumptuous terrace of the apartment, with a view of the verdant valley below that just goes on and on. The location is perfect,with no delays to the ski pistes or to the beaches. You are right on the route to everywhere although you wouldn't know it from the quiet location. The nearly silent apartment is sunlit all the day, something unusual in a mountain home. Everything is thought out for you - all you have to do is to bring your clothes. The full sized kitchen appliances are ready for your most ambitious cooking ideas, and if you need anything extra, Robin and Michel are there to help. You will never forget your stay at this beautiful, restful and luxurious apartment in the Pyrénées-Orientales.
Robin and Michel are classical musicians with a knack for restoring old buildings and making them live again. This is their third major renovation, and they say that the third time is the charm. They went overboard on this one, and the beauty and charm of the place tell the tale. Robin loves pampering guests with monogrammed towels and Limoges china, as well as a fully equipped terrace with spectacular views of the Canigou, the mountain so sacred to the Canigou. Other mountains tip their heads along the top of the valley. The village charmed Robin and Michel as soon as they arrived to see the property, and they fell in love. The friendliness of the village was evident from the start. The ancien church, with its medieval treasures and its beautiful light was the final clincher. They couldn't resist. They began work in 2012and haven't looked back. Robin and Michel give concerts frequently in the Pyrénées-Orientales, and if you visit, you may even be invited to participate in a musical event. Robin can even be pursuaded to give you a few singing lessons while you're here. Her book, How to Sing Like the Great Singers, is making waves in the singing community.
There is simply too much to list here to tell you all the things there are to do, see, taste, hear, and feel around here. If you like mountain walks, well you're in the right place. Devel mountain biking, canouing, kyaking, river rafting, rock climbing, skiing, swimming, hot thermal baths, fine dining, village markets, concerts, historical monuments and heritage sites, fantastic parks with extraordinary rock formations, goat and sheep farms, honey producers, fruit tree products, donkey and pony riding facilities, mountain treks, fortified towns and fortresses, solar ovens (2!), theatres, historical reenactments, tourist train... It goes on and on. In addition, even if you never get out of your car, you will see splendid countryside, with a beauty you couldn't imagine was here. This is France's best-kept secret. Come and discover it for yourself and your loved ones. You'll never forget your stay in the Pyrénées-Orientales.
