You'll have my phone number, so please do not hesitate to ring if you have questions during your stay. If you are staying for 8 nights or more, I will do a mid-stay clean should you require. This includes emptying the bins, a light touch clean to the kitchen and bathroom, changing the towels and pillowcases. If you are staying for two or more weeks, we can negotiate an additional clean if you so wish.

Ballater is a really lovely village in the heart of Royal Deeside. It's located 8 miles from Balmoral Castle, (Summer/Christmas/retreat) home to the Royal Family, and can be visited for much of the year. The village has a laid back feel, where many community events take place on the Village Green to mark special occasions in the Ballater calendar. Traditional Pipe Bands are regularly seen marching through during the spring/summer months. During the summer months the Highland Games season is in full flow, there are a number of villages and towns around Deeside that hold these spectacular events; the most famous being The Braemar Gathering, where members of The Royal Family attend. If you're wanting to explore the area there is so much to do on foot, bicycle or car, the beauty being that you can park your car and not need to move it for days. The old converted railway station which houses a replica of Queen Victoria's train carriage is also the information centre, library, and a cafe; here you can get walking routes etc. There are also two bike hire/repair shops and a hiking store. In essence, it's a wonderful place.
