A quirky but lovely find in Porthcawl. 2 minutes to the sea and all the town amenities. A comfortable room, (Kings Room on 2nd floor), with a bath in the room. Huge bed. Plenty of drawers and wardrobe space, coat hangers, continental breakfast items, free Welsh cakes, a glass of wine, chocolates and peace and quiet. Highly recommended but just don’t go when we want to go!

John Street is a charming traditional "High Street" with a good mix of shops. Porthcawl has some good pubs and restaurants and nice walks on the promenade. Great beaches too but it's the Bristol Channel so chilly most of the year...

Porthcawl is a traditional seaside town.
Porthcawl is a traditional seaside town. Full of friendly locals. Lovely pubs and cafes and the best ice cream ever from Sidoli's. Our favourite pubs for great food is the Salt Water Inn and the Globe. The Boat House is our favourite fish and chip shop. Always a queue as the fish is cooked to order. Worth the wait as it's delicious. Beautiful sandy beaches great for sandcastles. Donkey rides in the summer at Coney beach right next to the Funfair. At Rest Bay there is a surf school and a lovely restaurant with fantastic views. Also there is a great board walk with the beach on one side and a golf course on the other which then leads onto the coastal path. Porthcawl is a great base for visiting Cardiff Swansea and many other great places. Every week through the summer one of the local pubs puts on a great and free firework display down on the beach.

Not being able to walk very far.
Not being able to walk very far. We were able to enjoy the walk along the prom to the harbour. And there was a land train that you could take to go further afield. There were lots of cafes and restaurants.

Beautiful place with a lovely walk along seafront from Trecco Bay to harbour. Plenty of restaurants and shops a short walk down side streets from seafront. A lot of money spent and continuing investment in keeping Porthcawl modern. Aldi store being built near seafront. Plenty of activities for children including a funfair. First class fish and chips at Finnegans and Beales. Rest Bay car park with sea views and a new Watersports centre. Relaxing cuppa at Seabank hotel.
Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing too much trouble. Food was delicious with plenty of choice. Lovely breakfast to start the day. Good location for walking. Footpath quite close by to take you to Rest Bay and beyond towards Kenfig or go the other way via common towards Porthcawl itself. Amazing walk. Cafe at Rest Bay offering wide range of drinks and food with stunning views out to sea. Ideal for watching surfers. Loved Porthcawl, will be back as soon as able and would definitely stay at Rose & Crown.
The bed in the King's Room was very comfortable and the residents lounge was most welcoming particularly with the complimentary wine. The bathroom in the King's Room was good and the shower worked well. My sister was in the French Room and they loved it. We thought that it was very nice too. So if you have a choice between the King's and the French Room we would recommend the French room. Annette was a very engaging host and I could not fault her hospitality. The location is excellent with easy access to the town
spacious but very cosy apartment.Thick pile carpeting throughout except kitchen and bathroom.Very well equipped kitchen including dishwasher and cooker, kettle and toaster .also has a tall fridge freezer and superb dining area next to kitchen .a great flat screen TV in front lounge area , very comfortable sofas in front lounge and middle lounge areas.Plenty of storage space in the double bedroom .Convenient location to Porthcawl town one way and to Trecco Bay caravan park the other way.

I would like very much to come back. It was my son's 25th birthday, he has some disabilities and the staff were very accommodating in making our stay enjoyable and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening entertainment and formed an instant friendship bond with a lovely couple from Manchester whom we hope to keep in touch with, many thanks to the Seabank Hotel.
We booked the family room for two of us and the room was large and airy overlooking the sea. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Perfect location on the Esplanade with just a short walk into town and the beach. Free parking on site which is always a bonus. We felt the room was very well priced and will certainly return again.
We simply loved this property all around. Everything from the location, to the cleanliness, the amenities, and the comfort. The value we received was amazing. We had a great week visiting family nearby and visiting the beach in Porthcawl. We really loved it. This 4 bedroom home can sleep 8 and we were spoiled as a family of 4.
I've stayed at Mary Street twice now and both times I was very pleased with the rooms. They're clean, very comfortable and in a great location in Porthcawl, within walking distance from plenty of restaurants and shops
Alice was extremely helpful and super friendly :)
We loved the character and charm of this place and all of the quirky and fun decor. The location is great with easy access to town, Trecco Bay and the beach. The owner is a lovely gentleman who always went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable.
The location, easy transaction, clear instructions to check in and out, facilities as promised. We love Porthcawl and Mary Street is a few paces from the beaches and town centre with all its cafes, restaurants, take-aways and shops.
Superb Hosts, Arrived and felt welcomed and offers a complimentary drink and Welsh cake, then shown to my beautiful room with a stunning bathroom. First visit to this small but wonderful hotel, see you on my next visit to Wales.
Great location, nearby street parking. Very nice apartment styled in a nice boutique style. Great place to stay overnight and explore Porthcawl from host very responsive to any questions.
