Located in a quiet corner of the English Lakes, the Bluebird Lodge offers free private parking and free Wi-Fi in public areas. It is just 15 minutes’ walk from the village of Coniston. Until February 2018 Tracy and Michael were both primary school teachers, but they decided to follow their dream and establish a guest house in the landscape they knew so well from decades of walking and camping in the Lakes.

Bluebird Lodge is a small bed and breakfast housed in a traditional stone-built Lakeland farmhouse building. The rooms themselves are modern, simply decorated with a focus on comfort and quality.

Neighborhood info

Coniston is a wonderful location, both to live and to visit. The view of the Old Man from the breakfast room is breathtaking. The guest house is a five minute walk from the centre of the village where there is everything you could hope for including award winning restaurants, pubs serving the beers brewed in their own brewery, shops and a museum which has fine collections relating to John Ruskin and Donald Campbell. Places to visit locally include John Ruskin's home, Brantwood; Beatrix Potter's home at Hillside; Wrea Castle; William and Dorothy Wordsworth's homes at Rydal Mount and Dove Cottage. Being in the heart of the Lake District there are numerous walks ranging from accessible strolls to more challenging routes. But there is a wide range of other activities - including sailing, kayaking and other water-based activities on Coniston Water itself, or hiring cycles to enable you to explore. The range of activities is wide and whether you are experienced and looking for a base from which to launch yourself into your outdoor pursuits, or whether you would like us to put you in contact with guides and instructors in order to fulfil your dreams then Bluebird Lodge is ideal.
