Our hosts, Sandra & Ted, are an absolute delight. Friendly, welcoming & hospitable. Made us feel at home. Our room had a nautical theme and was rather quirky in its inclusions. We felt it was clean, spacious and comfortable. We were made to feel part of the family during our delicious breakfast. Parking was safe and straight outside the bottom gate. Whitby township is only a short walk away and contains numerous dinner options. Really enjoyed our second visit to this lovely B&B. Thank you.

Ted Sandra were fantastic not forgetting Millie the dog.Good breakfast great location for everything in Whitby. You're parking place is yours for your duration great piece of mind knowing that if you go out in the car no one else is going to park in your place.

We had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed meeting Ted and Sandra. There are a lot of stairs, but this is very clear on the description, so we knew what we were getting ourselves into! However, it did have the advantage of a lovely view of the Abbey from the window whilst having a drink in the room! The breakfast was brilliant and we had a great time chatting to Ted and Sandra and watching the goings on outside. All in all, a fantastic stay, which I would love to repeat.

What a wonderful experience staying at Captains Cabin ! Ted , Sandra & Milly the gorgeous Labrador welcomed us into their beautiful home and treated us like family . Our room was lovely and the view was spectacular 💕 i could have stood at the window all day ! 😁 Delicious breakfasts with a great choice available. Also a perfect location. We can't wait to return 😊

Breakfast made by Ted was delicious also lots to choose from. Perfect location to explore Whitby. Directions to the property were excellently written by Sandra and easy to follow. A very warm reception from Sandra,Ted and Millie the cuddly Labrador when we arrived. Lots of info about the area in our room. Hosts were always happy to help with local knowledge. The cabin is very quiet perfect for a good nights sleep. Great company easy to chat with. Would highly recommend.

A fab hidden gem here. Sandra, Ted and Millie the lab are wonderful hosts. Just the one room here. Room for your car outside the property on the private road of number 17 Esk Terrace. A lovely view across the harbour from the room. The room is at the top of the house, so plenty of flights of stairs (5?), and 3 sets to get up the property itself , so maybe not for the less mobile, there is a stanah stairlift inside the property. A fab brekky in the dining area/kitchen of the house, where you can sit and have a chat with Sandra and Ted and a cuddle with Millie. I'd recommend booking here early. I'd also recommend booking an evening meal somewhere as Whitby is busy all year round now. Some lovely walks in this area , including the old railway track of the Cinder Path.

We had stayed before at the Captain’s Cabin some 8 years earlier and it was still as good as it was then, the breakfast sets you up for the day.. It was unfortunate that on the dates we booked, the weather was a washout, we had planned plenty of walking the surrounding countryside, but weather was so bad they had to close the railway..

Sandra and Ted were excellent hosts and Millie the dog gave us a warm welcome! There was plenty of choice for breakfast and the facilities in the room had everything we required for our stay with a comfortable bed and cosy living space. Everything was clean and very quirky with a nautical theme and in general we had a lovely stay with our own private parking space. Highly recommended!
