Rather slow service in the lounge and in the dining room

As returning guests for the third time we were welcomed,and our custom recognised by complimentary wine and chocolates.The Valentines evening was tasteful in decor,the harpist and the tasting menu.Staff were most courteous and the service was excellent.

The leaking bath taps and shower attachment on the bath.

i did feel charging for a poor breakfast is not on as well it should be included with the room as well the spa was not as one would expect

Everything. Being treatewd properly. Friendly & efficient service. Pool and spa. Attention to detail.

Excellent spa facilities

On occasions the service was inconsistent. For example we ordered tea and coffee via room service which arrive and which subsequently appeared on our bill. This happened on more than one occasion. I think they sometimes confuse being courteous and friendly with being efficient!

Room issues - plug to charge phone overnight only next to wardrobe; standard lamp next to wardrobe the floor switch didn't work; extractor fan to toilet too noisey; TV cabinet too low to see from in bed

The staff were extremely polite and nothing was too much trouble at all. They are a credit to the hotel management. We enjoyed a walk to local Chewton Bunny as a family and the hotel is close to the sea, for those that enjoy a bike ride or walk to take in the rugged coast line. The grounds are pleasant and the bedrooms and bathrooms are also very pleasant as well. I thoroughly enjoyed the spa facilities but the children were quite frustrated by the tight restrictions on pool times which related to families with children only.

Much to my dissapointment, the hotel seems to favour its regular wealthy clients as this is unfortunately very apparent, making us feel at times slightly uncomfortable. The hotel is therefore not as family friendly as it claims to be and at times we actually felt like a mild inconvenience. Perhaps if the target market is wealthy adults who wish to relax, wine and dine in the hotel then the hotel should market themselves accordingly. Too much importance is placed on always ensuring that the the outward projection of the hotel is about class and luxury and I am of the opinion therefore that the hotel misses out on some real potential business from families because of this. Having paid a very considerable amount to stay at Chewton Glen for a short Winter Break with 3 children and I am afraid for me it simply did not represent value for money at all because of this.

The spa could have been better? I have been to Pennyhill Park and the spa there is better.

The hotel staff stole 80 pound out of my purse when they turned down my bed! We will never be returning.

Excellent Spa facilities, great location.

Access to room balcony and balcony area very run down (lack of maintenance). Golf course poorly maintained. Porters slow/disorganised.

The room was absolutely spectacular. The Spa looked amazing. The staff was irreprochable.

We had dinner there the first night. It is a very nice dining room with an elaborated menu however the quality of the food was below our expectations. So was the breakfast breads and pastries.

The location of the hotel is stunning. Relaxed atmosphere.

Inflexibility with reservations at the restaurant.

The restaurant very ppor food quailty for the price. Hoitel was not nearly elegant as photos suggest- it looks lika one main house with two motel wings added. Would not go back.

Staff looked exhausted, yawning and not very keen to serve Food quality was very disappointing, we ordered a seabass that was served overcooked in a broth full of water, my tuna tartar was not very fresh

My partner and I had suite 28 and it was fab! We stayed two nights on Monday/Tuesday at the end of March, as a birthday and I had the Hawaiian lomi lomi massage booked as part of my Xmas present. There was a luxurious lounge, with flat screen TV, fridge, bedroom area with another TV. The bed was very comfortable, with a deep mattress. The bathroom area was awesome with a TV at the end of the deep bath. The staff were very friendly and courteous. We had an eve meal booked on the 2nd eve, which was very nice. The staff describe what is on the plate. I loved my massage for 90 minutes, which was booked when the booking was made. My partner played 2 rounds of golf in the cold while I had my treatment. We both enjoyed the hydrotherapy pool after breakfast, before checking out @ 12.00. We both explored the grounds and took a look at the Tree Houses. I loved the relaxed ambience of the hotel, either sat in one of the many lounges, with 2 log Fires burning, or out to the crocket lawn. I loved the atmosphere in the bar in the evening, as the candles were glowing and then the staff brought our drinks into the dining room. The service and the food was amazing. I loved the cooked breakfast too!

The remote control was not available for the TV in the bathroom and there wasn't a good reception with the TV in the bedroom area. I know I should have phoned up reception, but my man said, leave it! It would be great if check in is 12.00, like check out time, as we were killing time stopping in Barton on Sea for coffee/cake and Burley to the Covern of Witches. All very nice, but my man was getting tired driving around, as he couldn't remember where this shop was. We could have had time to enjoy the spa pools after unpacking. We planned to go for a meal at The Pig on our first night, but it was fully booked, so we had a lovely meal at The Snake Catcher, also at Brockenhurst. A member of staff did ask where we were going and enjoy our meal, but when we arrived back at the hotel and were asked how our meal was at The Pig, the gentleman apologised and wishes that he had rang the Pig first to book us a table. It was a bit of a way out, down a long , but we will know next time to book or ask a member of the Chewton Glen to book!

Food was excellent. Wine Specialists were helpful at dinner. Room upgrade was nice when heating did not work first night. Excellent compensation for heating problem.

Golf clubs are not up to standard of hotel. No left handed putter available one day. One two sided putter available but very old. Get a couple of new sets of clubs at American golf. Why spend so many resources at the club on golf greens and course and then offer such poor quality clubs. Throw all the olds ones out. It costs so little to make this change but make such a difference in the golf experience. Its the small things that count at a hotel like yours. Most things were good but golf needs attention.

The wonderful dedicated and personalised service (especially the valet parking!). As well as the charmful place and decoration. A dream came true at Chewton Glen!

Hard to tell... Maybe the breakfast not included...

A really wonderful comfortable and very large room,with gorgeous bathroom and dressing area. Food fabulous but expensive.

Difficult access for wheelchair users. 3 steps to our room in a busy lounge area. Business gatherings taking place in the rooms leading to our rooms so passing through you felt you were intrerupting. Spa and indoor pool area only accessed by flights of steps. No good for disabled husband.
