Having enjoyed many short breaks in beautiful places and having loved sharing our own home with people over the years we have always dreamed of running a Guest House ourselves one day. And then we discovered Eastwrey Barton. We were immediately struck by its character, its history and its homeliness. There is nothing Janet enjoys more than helping people feel at home, and what better way to do this than with the kettle on and a plate of tiffin or fresh apple cake at hand? As for Martin, he loves to get out the maps and share walks and cycling routes with fellow adventurers over a pint. We are so excited that Eastwrey Barton provides such an ideal base for exploring Dartmoor.

Eastwrey Barton is a delightful Georgian country house providing the perfect country retreat. It features accommodation comprising four luxurious and spacious ensuite rooms, guest sitting rooms, dining room and licenced bar, as well as original architectural features, beautiful gardens and lovely views. Whether enjoying tea and cakes in the relaxing living room, surveying the beautiful view from the sun rooms, luxuriating in our comfortable spacious bedrooms or wandering round our delightful garden, we are confident that you will always feel you are staying somewhere special, full of character and homeliness. We, your hosts, Janet and Martin, would love to welcome you to our lovely home.

Neighborhood info

Eastwrey Barton is in a perfect location. It is easily accessible from major routes in the South West, yet at the same time is the ideal place to get away from it all. The fascinating wild landscape of Dartmoor is on our doorstep, with its characterful villages and historic houses, rocky Tors and beautiful rivers. Almost next door to us is the beautiful village of Lustleigh, and a few minutes further the historic small towns of Bovey Tracey, Moretonhampstead, Chagford and the famous Widecombe,-in-the-Moor, providing tearooms, pubs and restaurants, craft centres and museums, childrens playgrounds and heated outdoor swimming pools. A little further afield are the South Devon coastal paths, beaches and towns of Dartmouth, Salcombe and Bigbury.
