The grounds looked lovely
Walked into the room and immediately fell over the headboard which had been left by the staff in the middle of the room to await repair ! The TV worked only intermittently and when it did suffered from pixilation. The bathroom had an awful smell. Left after being there for 10 minutes
Nice views and a place to relax in the Jacuzzi and pool. Nice bathroom, and comfy beds.
It didn't feel clean and the decor was dated.
View from the restaurant over the lake
Radiator in the room wasn't working
Location, Breakfast, stunning views from the dining room
No internet access in my room. No mobile reception in my room - had to go outside.
No WiFi in room, you needed a cable ! no phone connection, had to go all the way to gym downstairs or outside to make a call.only WiFi in lounge .
Clean and comfortable
A bit dated
Location; absolutely no road noise. (In the middle of nowhere, mind, but that suited me.) Staff were incredibly helpful and personable. Supper was tasty and sensibly priced. Breakfast was good.
Nothing. Really loved my stay here.
Tranquil location in a beautiful setting, a perfect escape at the end of a tiring day
The only night we stayed there, we couldn't sleep at all! there was a party and lot of ppl yelling. Nobody advised us that there was an event/party in the hall. The next morning at the reception when we complained they didn't matter..
-Pretty location and very quiet -Lake was lovely and views in general
- Wi-fi didn't work from the room at all, not even feint so had to use communial lounge. - Hated the sauna/steam being located in the respective changing rooms as they were so small and could only fit 2 people in plus were very untidy and need some tlc. -On the day I stayed there there was no hot water on the morning i woke and neither the gym nor my room had hot water. Addressed this with reception and a gentleman seemed very sympathetic but the female behind the desk began to have a strop and a bit of eye rolling at me which I thought was rude..Will not be back!!
The room has literature which says if you have any health issues and need assistance to tell reception and they will try to help. I am having treatment for breast cancer and found the bed was extremely hard and i was in pain when i woke the first morning. As it was a three night stay i asked if i could change beds. Reception told me the beds were all the same and didnt offer me another room. I spent the second night with a flimsy single duvet under me which did nothing to ease the discomfort. I couldnt stand another night and went to check out the next morning. I was very disappointed as not all beds are the same and some get more use than others i feel i could have been offered some alternative. The receptionist wasnt bothered about my discomfort and therefore i wouldnt recommend them for this reason.
The exterior was beautiful, the location perfect and the staff fantastic
interior a bit old fashioned and in need of some updating. Bathroom not especially clean Bar was understaffed however the solo member was incredibly helpful in the face of quite a a lot of stick from guests.
Spacious & comfortable room Beautiful setting on a lake
No phone signal in the entire place Food average Wifi only in noisy bar Bad shower
The location was great to unwind. Nice walks around the golf course and lots of wildlife around the lakes. First room smelt smokey, but the receptionist quickly moved me to another room without any problem. I had a nice view of the lakes where there was lots of wildlife. Room was clean and comfortable and staff were very good.
I ordered a salad from the menu, description was: warm bacon and cherry tomatoes, rocket, avocado dressing and crumbled stilton. I received: warm bacon, mixed salad leaves, one normal tomato, and black pudding??? I hate black pudding! The waitress was very apologetic, and the salad was replaced, but still no rocked and the chef forgot the tomatoes this time?? It let down what was a nice venue.
The hotel lake and grounds were beautiful.
Dated decor. Dirty settees. Only 1 bath towel for 2 people sharing a room.
Great food Great location
Gym good. Cups with water machine would have been better
Views were fantastic, it was quiet, food was good, nice pool
Gym did not have a lot of facilities
Beautiful location and delicious evening meal. Good value for the overnight stay and meals included. Comfortable bed.
Décor very dated. Toilet had mould around the rim and the shower dial fell off. Shower not easy to use for the older person. Dining staff in the evening very slow to take our order and offer my mum and I a drink.
Location was fantastic !
Bar menu could have been better and restaurant menu quite expensive.
location Restaurant staff on the evening Marvellous well done ladies
Getting a bit Dated
1) the shower was useless 2) single diners were all made to sit in a row of tables at the side of the restaurant even though the majority of tables overlooking the lake were empty 3) a waitress in the dining room picked up a mushrooms off the warming plate at breakfast and put it back into the serving dish after straightening her hair immediately beforehand!
The location is idyllic but what really makes the hotel is the staff, they are fantastic! They were all so friendly, courteous and polite, I would stay there again just to experience such wonderful customer service. If only all hotels were staffed with such people, they truly are exemplars. And I had such a comfy bed which I rarely get in hotels.
Whilst very clean, tidy and comfortable, the hotel is a bit dated and could do with modernising. Although my bedroom was trying to be contemporary, it needs more than the bed with scatter cushions!...it was spotlessly clean though so that's more important when you're sleeping!
The quality of accommodation and food, and the hotel facilities
The access road is full of potholes and Wi-Fi signal is unreliable
Nice quiet location and good value for money
