Built in the latter part of the 18th Century, this Grade II Listed Georgian town house, is a fine example of the architecture of the period. We have recently redesigned the building in a very sophisticated style. This matches perfectly with the elegant building & surroundings. The Boutique Apartment has been sympathetically renovated, and is more like a Boutique Hotel Suite, with its own shower room and kitchen dining room. A perfect hideaway in the centre of Whitby! The Luxury Parisienne Room was created in January 2019 & has been a huge hit with our guests. Perfect for indulgence, romance & comfort right in the heart of Whitby on one of the best streets in the town. Skinner Street has a great vibe with bars, cafes, restaurants, bakeries to mention just a few!
Richard & I bought the property in May 2017. As soon as we saw the building we knew it would be perfect for our next venture. We have spent a lot of time in France - having renovated a beautiful Manoir, so knew exactly what look we wanted. We immediately restyled the Boutique Apartment , beautiful staircase & hallway before tackling the rest of the building. During our travels we have collected many eclectic pieces & mirrors especially! We love doing things just a little bit different.... We love welcoming guests to the Apartment, hearing about their forth coming stay etc. A lot of our guests know Whitby really well but we do get plenty of new comers who we happily point in the right direction for all the best places to visit!
Skinner Street is like the Hampstead of Whitby! It is full of individual shops, and has a unique friendly feel. The Boutique Apartment & Parisienne Room is situated in a beautiful building on a very popular street. The location is ideal, the Pannet Park museum & gardens is really close, as are the famous Whale Bones & Captain Cook monument. The Spa theatre is just up in the West Cliff area as are many other ‘bygone’ attractions. Just a 5 minute walk will take you into the town centre where there are an abundance of cafes, restaurants, shops of every description along with banks, chemists, butchers, fruiterers , Skinner Street is lucky enough to have antique and collectable shops, tea and coffee shops, as well as good restaurants.There is a deli selling unusual fare, and of course the famous Elizabeth Bothams tearoom, and cake shop. If you are looking for something sparkly, Bona Tom vintage jewellery shop is for you, and as this is Yorkshire, prices are very realistic :)
