The cottage is next to the owners’ home in a tiny hamlet called Ryal, and parts of the property are from the 1800s. The pretty village church dates back to Norman times and is steeped in history. The property is set just north of Hadrian’s Wall and only 9 miles from the pretty historic village of Corbridge, with plenty of pubs and tea rooms. It is less than 3 miles from the village of Matfen, a charming, picture postcard village with a pub, shop and tea room, and of course a nearby golf course at Matfen Hall, 2½ miles.
