Almost everything regarding our stay was wonderful and as we expected; the staff were friendly, the room was clean, comfortable and came with a lovely view, the breakfast was a delight.
We would love to come and stay again, but only when the summer season is well and truly underway.

Lovely flat in great location over looking the sea and a short walk down hill to the beach (what goes down must come up) but we enjoyed burning a few calories coming back up the hill after our meal at the spyglass pub on the beach front which played live music and was a very pleasant place to be. We will be back!

Lovely town on a steep hillside, with a sandy beach at the bottom. Really lovely food at the pub The Spyglass.
Botanical Gardens are wonderful, cliff walk lovely in both directions, and a great walk up on to the downs from where you can see the whole Island. Did everything on foot and by bus.

Attractive landscaping.
Ventnor has some very steep areas but negotiable with time.

Really loved the town, wasn't too big.
Really loved the town, wasn't too big. Had shops to cater for all you would need. Very clean. Every where we went the people always welcoming and so friendly.
Lots of great walks on your doorstep whether it is along the coast or across the downs. Or there is a great bus service that can take you to the popular attractions.
Eating out there were all manner of food you could enjoy. Also at all price levels to suit your budget. Have to say our absolute favourite place to eat based on price and quality was The Bistro.
Has extremely steep hills to get down to the esplanade so would require you to drive if you had any mobility issues.
Would highly recommend.

Ventnor has lots to recommend it when taken individually - a variety of bars, cafes restaurants and pubs, a couple of mini supermarkets, a lot of quirky independent shops and antique shops, car parking, kids play areas, beach and some walkable attractions. The difficulty is the roads linking the downs, town and beach and all very steep, narrow and winding which made us think twice about getting the car out sometimes.

Still a bit run down, but the Town is on the Up.Lovely Beach and Esplanade The Town still harbours a few Alkies and Drug users, but they seem to appear to be on the Decline.Ventnor is very Hilly so be warned. The Spyglass is the best pub in Ventnor
Lovely place to stay - very spacious apartment. It had everything you would need - kitchen was well equipped. Garden is very well maintained and spacious, perfect for breakfast outside. The location is not very close to Ventnor (by walking distance), but at the same time very close to costal walk - 5 mins and you can enjoy sea, peace and quiet. Very friendly owners. Overall very enjoyable stay, would definitely return, if we have a chance.
Great location within walking distance to coastline and Ventnor town centre. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious and immaculately kept which made for a very comfortable stay. There was a wide choice for breakfast - fresh fruit, cereals, cooked breakfast. All of the staff were very welcoming and friendly.
I thoroughly recommend this hotel and would definitely choose to stay at St Maur again when visiting the IOW
The location. Nice gardens near to the botanical gardens, Ventnor and Steephill Cove. Unusual and delightful ‘secret’ door from the rear of the hotel onto the coastal area walk ways. Brilliant breakfast. Nice and quiet. Friendly and helpful staff.
Off road parking great
The walk to Shanklin via Bonchurch and Devil’s Chimney was excellent.
On arrival and check in we met Emily on reception who was great. The rooms were comfortable and clean. And the bathroom was large and clean as well. The cooked breakfast we had was lovely- as all of the previous reviews have also agreed. The Hotel is also well situated in Ventnor overlooking the sea.
What a lovely apartment in a fab location in Ventnor. Beautifully furnished with everything we needed for a few days away. You can hear the sound of the sea and the views to the beach and beyond are stunning. It’s within east reach of restaurants and shops. We really enjoyed our time there.
Beautifully arranged and well organized, clean, excellent location, (beach is only a short walk away) great TV channel selection (Netflix, Prime, Disney plus, etc). Kitchen was well equip (loved that we’re given some coffee capsules), ahhh we basically loved everything about the place.
Location high up overlooking Ventnor Esplanade. Recently refurbished Victorian hotel after 4 years derelict . Beautiful decor. Very good heating system. Large bedroom with most comfortable king size bed..Superb choices for breakfast. Friendly and efficient management.
Beautiful old house and furnishings, a few minutes walk from coastal path. Very comfortable stay. Cosy log burning stoves in communal areas. Spectacular garden.
Welcoming host.
Well located within 20/30 mins walk from Ventnor.
Excellent location just a few seconds walk to the beach - easy walking to Steephill Cove and Bonchurch too. Great house with very comfotable beds, terrific bathrooms and kitchen facilities and very comfortable overall.
Loved the central location right on the High Street with easy access to local restaurants etc after a busy sightseeing day travelling around the island. Ventnor gardens and beaches all within walking distance too.
A really beautiful large house. Steeped in history. Very quiet area but close to Ventnor. Family run B&B which has a hotel feel but run by really warm and friendly family. We were made to feel very welcome
A gem on the Isle Of Wight. Very friendly team, great location for the 'bottom' of the island, first class restaurant (make sure you're there Friday - steak night is terrific). Lovely garden too.
The property is in a great location for access into Ventnor, Richard was a superb host and couldn’t do enough for you full of useful information, great breakfast and lovely room
