The location is great 10 mins from the port and 10 mins from Batsi (one of the main villages). Public beach is just across the street. Niko is a great host and is very helpful and supportive
Beautifully situated with a wonderful view over the bay and port, this hotel is only 200 metres from Batsi’s main beach and 400 metres from the small beach of "Colona"

Stunning views across the harbour. Especially at night. Breakfasts were good. Staff very helpful. Our room was huge with a lovely balcony.
Hotel Karanasos is ideally located 50 metres from Batsi's main beach. All restaurants, bars and cafés are within walking distance from the hotel.

The beach. It was the only thing that made our holiday.
I like Gavrio because it peaceful and still near the port.
I like Gavrio because it peaceful and still near the port. There is enough shops and restaurant and beaches near. But for better experiences you need a car or moto. Andros is very big island with different things to see. Its not only about beaches there are nice villages too and interesting old town and even waterfalls in the mountain. Also for walkers lot of good signed paths.

Not busy, but with enough to do when you don't feel like going anywhere else. The port is there which makes arrival and departure days stress-free, and also 5 minutes drive from the best beaches on the island.

I went with my boyfriend of a week and our stay at Gavrion was incredible. The locals are very friendly and the food delicious. The food may be expensive in some restaurants, you need to know where to search. The locals there helped us a lot Finding the best restaurant for price and quality of food, which was "Pame Vaggeli".
Everything in Gavrion is near to each other, which means you can explore the region on foot. However, if you don't own a car, the ticket for the local bus is 5€ per person to explore the whole island and the city of Andros. Also the souvenirs in the city are expensive so I advice to shop in Gavrion where they are cheaper.

Pleasant little harbour village where all the ferries come...
Pleasant little harbour village where all the ferries come in. Good selection of tavernas, cafes and shops. The village beach itself is nothing great, but there is a choice of excellent sandy beaches within a 20 - 30 minute walk. Buses to Batsi and Andros Town - the largest towns on the island - leave from beside the ferry quay at times tied into ferry arrivals and departures. I stayed in Gavrion for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. It's fairly quiet but the people are friendly and it's convenient for onward travel.

Andros is a friendly, low key island in the Cyclades.
Andros is a friendly, low key island in the Cyclades. The islanders are welcoming and helpful. We didn't need to hire a car as we could get to many places by bus. If you like Sifnos and other quiet islands pay Andros a visit. We stayed in Gavrion but might stay in Batsi next time. Staying in Gavrion meant easy access to the port.
We loved being right by a small beach which was easily accessible for swimming. The host, Costas, could not have been more helpful and answered my many questions patiently and speedily. Great view from the bedroom. We were in a beach villa. The local tavern, just 5 minutes away, was top class, and the beaches of Zorkos and Vitali were in easy reach. Although locals are used to dirt tracks and drive conventional cars on them, we were glad to have an SUV. Gavrio is 12-15 minutes drive away. There are always staff on site, which is very secure.
One of the best hotels I’ve ever been privileged enough to stay at. Gorgeous building, and it only gets more breathtaking when you walk in. High quality rooms, and high quality service. Especially the concierge Michalis, is the perfect example of a professional and helpful hotel employee. Every need was catered with utmost perfection making us feel so important.
He has been really very impressive in his service. We would like to visit your little Andros paradise again for this outstanding experience.
The room is in a convenient location, at the port of Gavrio. From Gavrio, the popular beaches of Chrisi Ammos and Kypri are 5 minutes with the car, and the remote beach Zorkos is close. The room's value for money is great. The room is basic, but ιt's a good choice for a weekend escapade, when you want to spend your time exploring the island, and not staying in the room. Parking was on the public street and it as easy.
right in the heart of gavrion with a balcony to people & boat watch! a spacious studio which felt really comfortable with a big double bed, quiet when windows shut, good kitchen amenities. Dimitri is a really nice guy. we spent some time chatting with him over some raki. a great base to explore island. car hire from him too - colours. plenty of food options a few minutes away.
OK for an overnight stay. Reception was kind enough to give me a better room than booked, with excellent view, which I appreciated. Excellent breakfast ( liked the fresh mushrooms sauteed w feta).
Hotel is a bit dated overall ( think 70s room amenities and decor-bathroom shower needs serious attention) but still comfortable, and pleasant.
Perfect hotel in a quiet area of Andros 10 minutes to the port, 20 minutes to Batsi and less than an hour to Andros old town. There was a nice Taverna next door and an even better one 5 minutes up the road. The hotel was gorgeous, the pool was perfect and the management was extremely kind.
The room overlooked the roof of the hotel buildings to the front but nonetheless presented us with a magnificent view of the bay. The room was comfortable with air conditioning. The staff was very accommodating and we much appreciated the transfers from and to the port.
The best part of the hotel were the staff! They were all so kind, welcoming, and went above and beyond to help us in every way! A definite must stay, and we would definitely return to this wonderful hotel again! If you go, say hello to their cute dog Fidel!
Very welcoming staff. The room was very clean and the location was perfect close to the best beaches and not far from the part. Plus the hotel has a nice view. I would recommend it to anybody looking for a simple hotel with a convenient location.
The staff of the hotel were very friendly and willing to help you 24/7. The breakfast was satisfied with a lot of options. The pool was big enough for the hotel but I preferred to go to the small organized beach which is next to the pool.
Superb location but if you're on foot it's a steep 10-15 minute climb up from the port. 4 balconies all providing stunning views of Gavrion area. Comfortable beds and sitting areas and 2 loos!!
