This is a wonderful place. This was our first time to greece so staying on one side of the island made it difficult to see the whole Island of Crete.

We spent 6 wonderful nights at Villa Athermigo. This stay reminded me that it is worth a deep dive into accommodations when there are a large number of options because gems like this get pushed down because of algorithmic functions on booking sites. I do not want you to read this review. i do not want you to post your own. I want everyone to forget about this place so I can save it for myself. If you read this and you are looking to stay in an amazing location centrally located in the Vamos area then rent a car and stay here. 20 minutes to everywhere except Falasarna beach, which is worth the drive. If you are traveling with two other couples book the whole place it will be that much more magical. Words do not to it justice

if you like country house with a style this is perfectly renovated old traditional house. Few minutes drive from lively coastal life. Kids loved pool, toys, garden. I like nature, style, relax

Location in a small village, close to many things to see, including Chania. Beautiful villa with only three converted rooms. Would be an excellent place to rent entire villa. Staff were fantastic! Lots of privacy. Very good authentic, restaurant called Monica"s, just a two minute drive. We loved it, and ate there twice. Would love to stay there again if back in Chania.

Absolutely perfect in every way. We could not fault a single thing about our stay at Villa Athermigo! Vasilis and Antwnia greeted us every morning with smiles and friendly conversation and they could not have been better hosts. They made sure we were comfortable and taken care of in every aspect; recommending places to visit, writing down names of authentic Tavernas and sights with less Tourists, so that we could get the most out of our stay in Crete. The Villa itself was so beautiful and peaceful; surrounded by nature and the best of Greek wildlife. Within 10 minutes, you can walk into Gavalochori Village for delicious food in authentic, local restaurants. This is the first place we have stayed in where we felt like we couldn't wait to return, even before we had left. We can't thank Vasilis and Antwnia enough for their hospitality and kindness. This place is a little slice of heaven!

The owners are absolutely lovely and went out of their way to help. Great fresh, home-cooked breakfasts every morning and any requests were accommodated. Facilities (sun loungers and room fittings etc) are very nice and high spec. Really enjoyed the location being a 15min walk to the nearby village where there are several great tavernas and amenities shops.
