Set amid a well-kept garden with roses, oleander, jasmine and pomegranate trees, Villa Thea offers self-catering accommodations with views over the White Mountains and the sea, and has an outdoor pool. Within a 10-minute drive, you can reach the nearest beaches. The stone-built villa is traditionally furnished featuring wooden-beamed ceilings and arched walls. It comes with 2 or 3 separate bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, living room and dining area. Within walking distance, you can reach the main square of Megala Chorafia village featuring tavernas, a traditional coffee house and a mini market. The town of Chania is 7.5 mi away. This charming villa lie on the eastern hillside of the pretty village of' 'Megala Chorafia', not far from the ancient Minoan ruins of the city of Aptera. The stone built villa offer guests an authentic taste of the true Cretan lifestyle with magnificent views of the sea to the North and of the White Mountains to the South. Well equipped with everything that today's lifestyle could want, the villa are situated in a garden of jasmine, oleanders and roses. Villa Thea own a well maintained swimming pool with graduated depth and a children's section for added safety. The garden and the pool are very well maintained by the owner to ensure that you and you family/friends have an enjoyable and safe rest in the Cretan sunshine. Come and enjoy the true Cretan lifestyle in beautiful and relaxing surroundings.
I am Manolis, the owner of Villa Thea. I have worked as the curator of the archaeological museum of Chania for many years. My studies in Cretan archeology have influenced the authentic design of both villas from their stone arches to the traditional furniture and fittings. I maintain the villa well so that all guests can enjoy their holidays in clean, peaceful and beautiful surroundings. One of my interests is gardening and in my garden you can rest, read and enjoy the jasmine, oleanders and roses. I take my responsibilities as a house owner very seriously and try my very best to ensure that my guests have the best possible holiday in true Cretan style.
The village of Megala Chorafia is the perfect location for an authentic Cretan holiday. Guests can choose to have a restful break or can choose to make it as active as they desire. For those guests wishing for a true rest, there is a pool for swimming and relaxing plus a mini market and good restaurants within easy walking distance for shopping and meals. There is also a taverna 'Akrimios' at the entrance to the village which regularly offers Cretan dancing and entertainment. If you do not wish to hire a car, you can have an enjoyable and extremely restful stay in the village. For the more energetic guests, there are many local beaches within a short drive such as Blue Beach (Kyani Akti) and the resort of Kalives. For the more adventurous there are beautiful beaches further afield such as Elafonisi and Frangokastello. In the nearby Venetian town of Chania, there are opportunities to do scuba diving and to go on a variety of boat trips. The old town also offers splendid shopping opportunities and a variety of excellent tavernas. The Villa have information on local activities and events and Manolis is a great source of information for guests wishing to know more.
