Caitin's, hotel in Rossbeigh

Overlooking Dingle Bay, midway between Glenbeigh and Cahirciveen, Caitin's is a traditional old-style pub with guest accommodation. Access to the Kerry Way walking route runs alongside Caitin's.

We stayed in a wonderful room with a sea view. The beds are comfortable, but not very wide for two people. The design is clean and pleasant. The staircase to the 3rd floor is very steep, so you need to be careful. You can clearly hear sounds from the neighboring rooms in the room. The hotel has a large parking lot, which is very crowded with buses and tourists in the morning and during the day. Breakfast in the kitchen needs to be self-service, there are no hot dishes, and the children's menu has only yogurt and milk with cereal. There are fruits and sliced bread for toast. There is no TV, kettle, glasses or tea sets in the room, but the WiFi is good. The hairdryer is shared in the hallway. All night long you can hear the sounds of the road, there is no silence.

The beach is spectacular, a little piece of heaven on the Wild Atlantic Way. The food in nearby Ross Point was excellent. Staff in the restaurant and guest house owner Brenda Cahill And her husband were extremely friendly and accommodating. Would recommend highly.

Rossbeigh is a very quiet place with a beautiful sandy beach where you can go for long walks right up the peninisula. If you are into surfing or horse riding then it may well be right up your street. It is just slightly outside the Kerry dark skies reserve but the skies still get very dark compared to many other places near larger towns. There is nearby Glenbeigh for anything extra you need with a convenience store, petrol station and a hotel that serves delicious meals and a daily special menu just five minutes drive away. The locals are wonderfully friendly and helpful.

Rossbeigh is a very special place...level sandy beach, dunes and so much space for all the family to enjoy...it is ideal as a base for exploring the beautiful Ring of Kerry. Don't be in too much of a hurry and be ready to stop and enjoy the wonder of the area...Caragh Lake, Cromane with it's natural harbour & Jack's Restaurant, Killorglin with it's charming pubs and many excellent restaurants, Inch beach with surfing, kayaking and tasty food for all ages, Dingle's pubs, shops and boat trips...just pick up the information leaflets or ask Brenda and Michael at Rossbeigh Guest House. Glenbeigh is closeby, is a beautifully kept village and has a variety of shops, quaint pubs and, in our view, an excellent fish & chip shop. We did so much and will be back to do so much more! When travelling from Killorglin to Glenbeigh (N72)...about halfway along the road in a lay-by on the left-hand side you may see a donkey with a dog sitting on it's back... be ready to stop it is a delight!

It was lovely walking along the beach to the sand dunes.

It was lovely walking along the beach to the sand dunes. We ate at the Towers, the local Fish and Chip shop and the Glenbeigh Hotel, all very good. It is easy to walk around Rossbeigh but not to walk from there to Glenbeigh which we tried the first night! As we like walking there were plenty of walks but we also drove round the ring of kerry and boat trips not far away which we did. The forest walk above lake Carugh was beautiful from the top there were views all round.
