Beautiful new property. Check in was quick even though there were a bus load of tourists that had just arrived.
Was upgraded to a Suite. I had booked a deluxe quadruple room. The suite was big n spacious. A roll in roll out bed was provided for the 3rd person. There was an ensuite and a separate toilet in the lounge area.
Food was excellent at Malange Restaurant in the hotel. We ate dinner there. Breakfast was a wonderful spread of South Indian, Continental items. Also freshly baked croissants, Danish pastries and muffins. Compliments to Chef Mithu

Hot water did not come .. Hotel authority should take note of this. AC control fixed at 24 is not fair. They should give choice to the occupant to change the temperature as per their requirement.. Barring this room is ok.. Since the property is nearer to the temple no vehicle is allowed. Vehicle parking not available
We have walk a distance of half KM to reach the property. No restaurant nearby .

Chaotic traffic perhaps Madurai drivers have their own rules of the road. Cleanliness found wanting. THe restaurant (Sabarish_ where we had food, though recommended to be good, was below average. THey dont have a Q management system and people wait behind making the diners uncomfortable. Privacy of eating is disturbed

Great place for ALL visitors, provided you have recourse to air-conditioning to retreat to. The sights are incredible and the people are friendly. We hired a local driver as driving in the crowded streets can be difficult.

If you are going for a pilgrimage then Madurai is the right place to go. I will vouch for the tagline, "Temple City", is appropriate but if you want to enjoy otherwise then other attractions are limited.

Very busy around Minakshi temple.
Very busy around Minakshi temple. We visited during late March 2024 and day time temperatures were around 35°-39° C , the Thirumalai Nayak Palace was going through massive renovation and so 75% of the area was not accessible. Ghandhi Memorial was also being renovated. So was the area near Vandiyur lake and gardens, So in 2024 avoid these places.

I booked 5 nights but 3 was enough to visit local sights. I stayed at a hotel walking distance from the station and it also proved walking distance from the meenakshi temple (west gate). Check out the Jain temple on the approach to the west gate. I’d recommend taking socks for the temple visit as shoes are not allowed and the stone floors can get quite hot. Highly recommend touring the outside of the temple for great photos as not cameras are allowed inside, but some shops will allow photos from their rooftops in the hope of a purchase. Beggars are persistent as are street sellers. Thirumalai nayakkar Mahal is well worth a visit - I used google maps to get around and on route to this beautiful building I came across a super shop (AK. Ahamed) for clothes etc - something I would have missed had I taken a ride. I found clothes, food and local travel cheaper than many other cities. I viewed other recommendations for places to eat but I did find it difficult to get the message across about “non-spicy” as it seems many of the sauces come pre-prepped.

Disappointed by our time here: temples are great, but Madurai let down in comparison to other cities in Tamil Nadu by dirty streets and poor roads, overly greedy auto drivers (again far worse than in other Indian cities!). Would not choose to visit again
Central location, easy 10 minutes to Meenakshi. temple. Its in a busy area with many shops, temples, food, drink options. However, the rooms are away from street noise because they are on 2nd and 3rd floors, and there is a lift. It's 10 minutes easy walk to the Periyar bus stand (Kerala direction buses) and Madurai Junction railway. The room was nice, with kettle, Tv some furniture. Hotel style layout though there is a communal rooftop/balcony. Helpful staff let me check out late- recommended.
Our stay at JC Residency was wonderful. We were traveling from USA with both our teenage son and elderly grandfather, and we were so well taken care of. Our rooms were not only 100 percent functional, (uncommon in India) but very luxurious and beautiful. The staff was friendly and attentive. Excellent value. We wouldn't think of staying anywhere else in Madurai.
Very clean rooms, good internet speeds, good breakfast. The hotel has good security features as well.
Most importantly don't forget to avail Red Taxi services to travel around Madurai. They are very professional and you can avoid dealing with Auto guys and their exorbitant prices and bad behavior.
Beautiful place to stay with family. Location was good. The hotel had a restaurant in the ground floor which provided all the food options. A bakery and fruit juice shop were also available. Located in the junction of the roads, clearly visible and easy to reach. Very helpful and kind staff.
We were faked by Temple Annex View - they did not provide the rooms we had booked - hence, we had to find another hotel around 10 pm for the same night. It worked out with them quite OK. In general, it is complicated to find a reasonable priced decent hotel in Madurai.
No noise.
We were visiting Madurai to attend a marriage and stayed at Regency for 3 nights. It was a comfortable stay. Rooms are very good and clean. Staff were very helpful. Food is excellent at the in-house restaurant though a bit pricey for Madurai. A great place to stay.
This is one of the few budget hotels in Madurai that rent rooms to foreigners. Even if you see a cheaper hotel on the Booking.com, they do not have a rental license to rent and no where mention about it.
10 min walk from railway station.
The property is stunning and offers a bit of peacefulness, away from buzzing Madurai. Fabulous facilities (especially the swimming pool) and front desk was very kind and helpful. Room was clean, very comfortable, with private pool.
The homestay was very wonderful for family and kids to stay. This stay has all kitchen items for cooking and bathroom, bedroom was very clean. Perfect homestay in madurai outer.
Service is very good. Room (not dorm) is clean and comfortable. Hotel helps me arrange a car to Madurai airport at early morning. And you can meet other backpackers here.
While booking informed hotel car parking available,. once reached, they said only temple parking was available
Need to give clear information, so we can plan accordingly,
Brilliant hotel in the centre of Madurai, near to the temples. Friendly welcome and cosy rooms. The roof top restaurant was exceptionally good. Tasty food and views!
