Beautiful new property. Check in was quick even though there were a bus load of tourists that had just arrived.
Was upgraded to a Suite. I had booked a deluxe quadruple room. The suite was big n spacious. A roll in roll out bed was provided for the 3rd person. There was an ensuite and a separate toilet in the lounge area.
Food was excellent at Malange Restaurant in the hotel. We ate dinner there. Breakfast was a wonderful spread of South Indian, Continental items. Also freshly baked croissants, Danish pastries and muffins. Compliments to Chef Mithu

Hot water did not come .. Hotel authority should take note of this. AC control fixed at 24 is not fair. They should give choice to the occupant to change the temperature as per their requirement.. Barring this room is ok.. Since the property is nearer to the temple no vehicle is allowed. Vehicle parking not available
We have walk a distance of half KM to reach the property. No restaurant nearby .

Chaotic traffic perhaps Madurai drivers have their own rules of the road. Cleanliness found wanting. THe restaurant (Sabarish_ where we had food, though recommended to be good, was below average. THey dont have a Q management system and people wait behind making the diners uncomfortable. Privacy of eating is disturbed

Great place for ALL visitors, provided you have recourse to air-conditioning to retreat to. The sights are incredible and the people are friendly. We hired a local driver as driving in the crowded streets can be difficult.

If you are going for a pilgrimage then Madurai is the right place to go. I will vouch for the tagline, "Temple City", is appropriate but if you want to enjoy otherwise then other attractions are limited.

Very busy around Minakshi temple.
Very busy around Minakshi temple. We visited during late March 2024 and day time temperatures were around 35°-39° C , the Thirumalai Nayak Palace was going through massive renovation and so 75% of the area was not accessible. Ghandhi Memorial was also being renovated. So was the area near Vandiyur lake and gardens, So in 2024 avoid these places.

I booked 5 nights but 3 was enough to visit local sights.
I booked 5 nights but 3 was enough to visit local sights. I stayed at a hotel walking distance from the station and it also proved walking distance from the meenakshi temple (west gate). Check out the Jain temple on the approach to the west gate. I’d recommend taking socks for the temple visit as shoes are not allowed and the stone floors can get quite hot. Highly recommend touring the outside of the temple for great photos as not cameras are allowed inside, but some shops will allow photos from their rooftops in the hope of a purchase. Beggars are persistent as are street sellers. Thirumalai nayakkar Mahal is well worth a visit - I used google maps to get around and on route to this beautiful building I came across a super shop (AK. Ahamed) for clothes etc - something I would have missed had I taken a ride. I found clothes, food and local travel cheaper than many other cities. I viewed other recommendations for places to eat but I did find it difficult to get the message across about “non-spicy” as it seems many of the sauces come pre-prepped.

Disappointed by our time here: temples are great, but Madurai let down in comparison to other cities in Tamil Nadu by dirty streets and poor roads, overly greedy auto drivers (again far worse than in other Indian cities!). Would not choose to visit again
The proximity of the hotel, just 2mts walking distance from the east Gopuram of Sri Meenakshi Amman Temple, you can also access the terrace to see the "kankolla katchi" Of all the 4 gopurams and ultimate is you can fully see the "Thanga Gopuram". It's one in life time opportunity.
About the hotel and staff, the manager and the staff, security all are very helping and kind. My family has already decided to stay here only any time we visit Madurai.
The breakfast itself was good though you have to find out for yourself that there are omelet and dosa stations outside. The bartender in the Ranch Bar was great. Maybe have him teach the breakfast host how to interact with guests. The room was large. It had a mini bar and a safe. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Housekeeping did a great job. The hotel has an outdoor pool but it closes by 6 pm.
property situated well
great pool
fabulous variety of food
rooms excellent standard as expected from a Marriott hotel
staff amazingly helpful and very friendly
Sasi made us feel very welcome and even presented a cake to us before we left !
Madurai was a great place to visit steeped in history
We stayed for the 2nd time. Excellent facilities. They are giving complimentary bottled drinking water 2 Nos. The cost is also very affordable.
I recommend to stay in this lodge for your comfortable stay. The lodge is very near to Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple. Only 2 minutes walk.
This property is just opposite or a few yards from the Western Gate of Madurai's Meenakshi Amman Temple; there is no better choice than this hotel if your priority is to visit the temple. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are not that perfect, but everything works.
Location was convenient as it was close to the city centre and the best part was, we booked their hotel taxi to the airport for a fixed steep rate of 1350! But the driver and car were both excellent and we reached the airport in little time with ease!!
This is a basic hotel, but good value for money. Don' t expect high quality or services. The rooms are small , but well maintened and clean with a working AC, hot water in the basic bathroom. Good to stay one or two days when visiting Madurai
I travelled with my parents for our trip to Madurai/Rameswaram and stayed for a night here. The hotel is really good and exceeded my expectations. Excellent rooms, really well kept and good service from the staff.
A good stay. The hotel accommodated by providing accessible based room to cater for my elderly parents. The breakfast had good choice of South indian and western food. Friendly and helpful staffs
Service is very good. Room (not dorm) is clean and comfortable. Hotel helps me arrange a car to Madurai airport at early morning. And you can meet other backpackers here.
All the staffs were awesome and property Manager Naveen was very good. He also suggested us to stay at Hycinth hotels in Trivandrum which was also excellent hotel.
Liked the Hotel overall. Though a bit pricey. Good Pool, Gym, Restaurant and Well groomed staff. Nice choice if you need to avoid the hustle and bustle of Madurai
Location is good. You can see Madurai city from the hotel's view point. This is a natural habitat of peacocks, you can feed them, an experience for all.
