Uttarkashi is actually base to travel to Gangotri.
Uttarkashi is actually base to travel to Gangotri. Gangotri is about 3-4 hours drive from Uttarkashi though its 100 kms only but due to hilly region cannot drive more than 40 kms per hour. Visiting Gangotri Temple does not take much time but in peak season like may June it may take 1-2 hours. River has extremely cold water so cannot take a dip though just was face and feet. Water is too clean and fantastic feeling to be there. Uttarkashi as city does not have much to offer.If you are from Plains where tempratures are soaring above 40 degrees ,this is the place to beat the heat.

Horrible !
Horrible ! Most third class, cheater, both the hotel and the travel.com site. Never stay at this hotel, if at all you need to book it, don't pay any advance. They will just digest it and say they haven't received it.
