The hotel is in an excellent location, very handy for a short stroll to the beach, without being directly on the seafront. Bijoy was the perfect host, making us feel welcome on arrival and providing valuable information and advice. It's easy to see why he has so many repeat guests. There was plenty of choice for dining, with many decent restaurants and cafes very close at hand.

Kovalam is a nice beach.
Kovalam is a nice beach. I had visited this place almost 40 yrs back as a kid but this time was a difference experience altogether. It is great if you are able to hire a car here and then move around. The experience from lighthouse on the lighthouse beach is something unique. The beach itself is nice and clean and you do get beds at INR 100 where you can rest and put your clothes while you take a small dip in the sea. In case you are looking for vegetarian food, the options are less but not non-existent. Overall a very nice stay.

This review for Lighthouse Beach - It is good if you enjoy a beach environment (no sandflies). Little else to do around there, but visiting the lighthouse is OK. A few good choices in restaurants. 25% more expensive (hotels and restaurants) than expected (compared to other areas in India). Tuktuk and taxis at both ends if you want to go elsewhere. Not many travel agencies around for sidetrips. Enjoyed Oceano Di Cafe Authentic Caffeine.

I planned only 5 nights in Kovalam - for me this wasn't enough. I'd been travelling and wanted chill time - Kovalam definitely provides that. There are shops, restaurants, cafes and hotels on the promenade. I didn't get the chance to try lots of cafes as the ones I started with were super. I lost my orientation whilst in the alleyways that connect the hotels to the beach - and found lots more shops and cafes I didn't know about. There are some concrete walkways (some with waterways either side) yet adequate lighting was provided and it wasn't a problem even in the evening.

Kovalam beach is nice and clean, and very tourist friendly.
Kovalam beach is nice and clean, and very tourist friendly. Depending on what place you stay, you could enjoy many things within walking distance. The food places are nice along the beach near light house beach, but mostly overpriced (it was expected though, as near to the beach and tourist area). 2-3 days are enough to spend time in there, I wished I had more time to spend at the next beach i.e. Varkala - which is way more beautiful than Kovalam.

Kovalam is paradise!
Kovalam is paradise! The quieter sister of Varkala, a labyrinth of streets with lovely restaurants right behind the beach promenade. Enough to explore for days. You can easily spend days and days and days here. ❤️❤️
The location is brilliant as it is just beside the lighthouse beach of Kovalam while still peaceful and calm. The private beach of the hotel which it shares with two other hotels is also a bonus as one doesnt necessarily have to walk to lighthouse beach to take a dip. The private is extremely clean and perfect to sit for hours as it is less crowded than the main beach. The hotel amenities are also upto the mark while the sea facing front of the rooms makes it one of the best value for money property of the area.
1. The location was superb, two mins to the beach
2. The manager was really helpful and nice
3. The room was airy and spacious.
4. The auto which the mamager helped us to book the guy was superb and we did a proper sightseing to poovar, chenkal and azhimala at a decent price
Note - If you have trolleys call the mamager first to pick up your luggage because the hotel is a 5 mins walk from a canal road to the main road. Vehicles are not allowed to the hotel.
God's own country is a superb property near Kovalam beach. We stayed in the hotel in second week of December 2022. Rooms are clean, neat and exceed five star standard. Swimming pool is also well maintained. Hotel staff is very supportive and cooperative. Food is really tasty and rates are also affordable. Mr Mathew, property manager is a very caring person. It is one of the best property in the vicinity of Kovalam beach.
The overall experience of staying at the Leela Kovalam was one of the few experiences of life which you want to cherish throughout.
The property has it's own unique serene beauty and is very well maintained with exceptional amenities and equally exceptional demeanor by the staff.
Truly had a great experience at the property and would definitely visit again (hopefully one day when the prices aren't too high..!!).
Awesome, hotel room just above the beach, you will hear sea wave sounds whole day night. A very beautiful view of light house , beach on both sides. Staffs are helpful, good attitude will carry your bag on long way to hotel & upstairs from the vehicles. just communicate with them before arrival for their hand carry support. We appeared on 11:30 PM night but support was excellent
Brilliant place to stay in Kovalam.
Probably the best hotel due to the facilities and excellent location for walking into lighthouse beach restaurants, shops etc.
Staff, food, rooms, cleanliness, swimming pool, totally great.
We didn’t do the Ayurveda treatments but did do a yoga class. The Ayurveda appeared to be excellent but can’t vouch for this personally.
The staff especially Jasmine at front desk and Shreejith at the Jasmine Bay restaurant were exceptional. The resort is super and one of the best in Kerala. It's highly recommended to anyone who is thinking of staying at this property. Breakfast is brilliant and complimentary high tea by the sea and boat ride at the lagoon made our stay even more wonderful.
The staff are very keen and welcoming throughout the hotel area.
The pool area and lagoon are lovely as are the grounds.
The breakfast is excellent with a great array of choices. We really enjoyed the sunset snacks and Bait, although pricey was wonderful.
The morning yoga is led by a top professional tutor who is brilliant.
Best beach resort, I have visited till now in India. I had been to Taj Fisherman Cove, Taj Fort Aguda and Taj Exotica(Goa) and other 5 star beach properties. Nothing, beats this resort in term of location and view of sea. Staffs are courteous and special mention to "Manju", she was outstanding on the service.
The location is good. Right beside the lighthouse beach. There is no breakfast or dinner served here. But you can find many eateries just beside the lighthouse beach near the hotel.
Very bad experience.
First they shifted us another hotel without our permission and without prior information.
Food quality not good, beds very uncomfortable and hospitality poor.
The staff were very friendly, specially Vishnu.
The massage was fantastic and traditional Kerala breakfast was just impeccable. And the bathroom in our room was huge.
Rooms were very clean and hygenic. Staff was very nice and cooperative. They provided us a balcony room on request. Location is good , very much near to beach.
