Getting around is easy. Nice parks and resorts and tourist areas. I liked the tourist areas around Erbil, short day trips then you can go back to your hotel in the city.
I see that the government is working to improve tourism, however, there is still more work need to be done, investment in the parks and resorts is very important which will bring more tourist locally and internationally.

Our stay at the hotel was beyond exceptional!
Our stay at the hotel was beyond exceptional! This was mainly due to the front office receptionist (Ramen) who was extremely helpful, professional and courteous. Our entire duration was seamless and wonderful! It’s obvious the staff truly care about their guests and we will definitely be returning and recommending this hotel. Thank you so much again Ramen, you have made us loyal guests

I would stay in Ainkawa rather than Erbil, it is a waking area. Erbil is a car city, like Dubai or Jakarta. It is not a walking city like Kuala Lumpur or Paris.
If one has a car than Erbil area is nice, especially if one can go up into the mountains in the summer.

Erbil itself is an interesting historical city but you probably only need two days to visit most of the highlights. It's easy to get around as there is always a glut if taxis. It helps if you have gps and you know the local name of where you're going. Staying in Ankawa probably makes the most sense for any tourist as many of the best restaurants ( Fuul & hummus), bars (Dusk) and spas are there.
Erbil is also a perfect base for travelling the governorate including Haji Ormran, gslgurd mountain and Felaw pound, Bekhal, Gali Ali Bag, korek mountain and Shingalbana

A city full of history and culture.
A city full of history and culture. Survivors of thousands of years of war, still able to preserve their culture while embracing modern traditions and culture. so much to see, to do and so many beautiful people. Put it on your bucket list, you won't regret it.
All hotel employees were very helpful and kind. The breakfast was wonderful. If you prefer to eat at the hotel; the lunch was perfect as well with wide variety of dishes. The room was very clean and comfortable with a good air-conditioning and a beautiful view of Erbil. The rooftop was amazing at night. While checking out, Ibrahim and Usama from the reception gave us the necessary details and eased our way back to the airport. Thank you for this beautiful and high-quality experience.
This hotel is just overall an amazing deal, and the location is just perfect, in a somewhat good neighborhood, at a walking distance between the more wealthy area of Erbil with clubs and bars, and the traditional city center! A big supermarket in front and a gym 5 minutes away! Also i have to mention the super friendly and helpful staff, the hotel was super clean and the breakfast was rich and diverse, with free coffee and tea all around the day. I'll be back!
The location and staff is perfect
But the price and tax is so high
And I really didn't like the breakfast 😕
And as 5 star hotel doesn't having a pool is not making a sense, and the condiner system is general means u can't make the room temperature as u like which really bad
And for hotel guests its really not necessary to do these all checking and dog checking every time we go inside and outside
I only stayed for a few hours waiting to catch my flight
however the hotel was very clean, comfortable and well organized
Many thanks to Mr. Rudy at the reception (who speaks excellent English) for taking care of the small details and also for helping me find a low cost taxi to the airport.
It was a short stay for me, but it is a highly recommended hotel in Erbil city.
The front staff were so incredible while I was there. Yasmeen and the other adorable lady took such good care of me. I really felt like they genuinely cared about my stay, not just at the hotel but in Kurdistan. Directions, money changing, travel advice, stories of the country - all of it made my stay incredibly special. I loved the location and my room (505) was amazing.
I’ve stayed at the Quartz many times and they never disappoint. Safety and security excellent. Good location, near the Citadel. Staff, especially Michele and manager, Ibrahim were very professional and accommodating to my somewhat “picky” requests. Overall, the best hotel in Erbil. I will always stay at the Quartz!
My brother and I came for tourism in Erbil from the Netherlands and this hotel was special from the rest of the hotel staff is very nice, especially the young man, the creature messenger and the girl with whom he is very nice and hardigent in her work.
And of course I will come to the same hotel next time.
Great location as far as visiting the Ainkawa suburb is concerned, which has many bars, cafes and restaurants. Staff were also very hospitable and friendly, especially Rana from Syria. Ankawa is like a city within a city, so I do recommend staying here separately to Erbil city to experience it as well.
Positive point you’ll need it to know .you would feel comfortable and great . Comfortable bed , modern hotel decorated in luxury style , safe &clean , out door pool, great gym and sauna .all staffs without exception are kind and nice .small detail.hotel bar.
It’s very clean, the staff are amazing, helpful and smiling all the time , if I want to visit Erbil again definitely I will choose Mariana hotel again
Thank u guys for the wonderful staying
