Getting around is easy. Nice parks and resorts and tourist areas. I liked the tourist areas around Erbil, short day trips then you can go back to your hotel in the city.
I see that the government is working to improve tourism, however, there is still more work need to be done, investment in the parks and resorts is very important which will bring more tourist locally and internationally.

Our stay at the hotel was beyond exceptional! This was mainly due to the front office receptionist (Ramen) who was extremely helpful, professional and courteous. Our entire duration was seamless and wonderful! It’s obvious the staff truly care about their guests and we will definitely be returning and recommending this hotel. Thank you so much again Ramen, you have made us loyal guests

I would stay in Ainkawa rather than Erbil, it is a waking area. Erbil is a car city, like Dubai or Jakarta. It is not a walking city like Kuala Lumpur or Paris.
If one has a car than Erbil area is nice, especially if one can go up into the mountains in the summer.

Erbil itself is an interesting historical city but you probably only need two days to visit most of the highlights. It's easy to get around as there is always a glut if taxis. It helps if you have gps and you know the local name of where you're going. Staying in Ankawa probably makes the most sense for any tourist as many of the best restaurants ( Fuul & hummus), bars (Dusk) and spas are there.
Erbil is also a perfect base for travelling the governorate including Haji Ormran, gslgurd mountain and Felaw pound, Bekhal, Gali Ali Bag, korek mountain and Shingalbana

A city full of history and culture.
A city full of history and culture. Survivors of thousands of years of war, still able to preserve their culture while embracing modern traditions and culture. so much to see, to do and so many beautiful people. Put it on your bucket list, you won't regret it.
I had a fantastic stay at [vote hotel ]. The staff were welcoming and professional, and my room was spotless and comfortable with all the modern amenities. The on-site dining was exceptional, especially the breakfast buffet. The hotel’s convenient location made exploring the city easy. I also enjoyed the fitness center and spa. Highly recommend [vote hotel ] for its outstanding service and prime location. I look forward to returning!
Big thanks for waseem and Montaha
My wife and I stayed at two different hotels in Erbil, this one was by far the better value for money. We arrived at 2 am and the reception staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly with excellent English. We were not asked for proof of marriage. The bathroom (and shower itself) were huge and exactly what we needed to detox after a 12 hour bus journey from Diyarbakir. Great views of the city from the pool area and a large private (free) car park.
The breakfast was just ok. I thought a 5 star hotel would have better fresh options and some customer service. Its a buffet style with no waiter service at all. we walked in and no one greeted us or sat us down. It was a little confusing and we just walked over to a table and sat our selves and helped ourselves to the buffet.
A cozy hotel inside the ancien part of the city, in front of the citadel of Erbil. A better location is not possible. Clean rooms, fantastic, hot shower, good and silence heating, nice and helpful staff. A very good option for a low budgets travellers who want to stay near the vibrant part of the city.
Great location as far as visiting the Ainkawa suburb is concerned, which has many bars, cafes and restaurants. Staff were also very hospitable and friendly, especially Rana from Syria. Ankawa is like a city within a city, so I do recommend staying here separately to Erbil city to experience it as well.
Excellent place to stay in Erbil. This hotel is within walking distance to the citadel and the Bazar. The hotel is excellent value and the staff (particularly Youseff on the front desk ) are amazing. I would not hesitaate to recomend the Janet Bludan Hotel.
Special thanks to Natalie & Samah from the hotel reception .. they are very kind and helpful.. thanks for all the hotel stuff for their support..
Sure we will be back for Arjaan Erbil hotel..
It was a very nice and relaxing staying
Great stay near the bazaar, which is about a 15-20 minute walk. The facilities were very clean. Loved the large shower. Room was equipped with water and a hot kettle. Hotel staff was very friendly. Large breakfast to enjoy!
The hotel had a friendly and clean environment. The facilities were good. The attitude of the staff was polite and excellent. I recommend you to experience staying at this hotel. Of course, I had booked at a cheap price.
We were lucky to find Ankawa Hotel on booking.com back in 2018. Ever since, it became our go-to hotel because of the spacious well-equipped rooms, delicious assorted breakfast, strategic location and reasonable price.
The hotel is one of the best places in Erbil! It's really clean and comfy. Respectful staff with great services. The breakfast buffet is also good and various. I can evaluate the hotel as one of the best in the town.
A very special location in Erbil city center, I was amazed from the moment I stepped into hotel, lobby is beautiful, staff are super friendly, room was clean and nice, breakfast was the most delicious I had so far
Super nice staff, very clean hotel and nice breakfast. We felt really comfortable during the stay and would definitely recommend the hotel for anyone travelling to Erbil.
the staff was very kind and the hotel was clean and the breakfast was very good and diverse.
