Quiet with amazing views over the valley to the mountains. Surrounded by nature and wildlife the forests abound with things to see. The house is detached with a large garden, there are three apartments. One on the ground floor and one on the second floor. Your hosts live on the middle floor and are always available if you have any questions. Please be aware the internet and mobile phone signal are usually excellent, however, we live in the mountains and there can be interruptions to internet service, these don't usually last very long, but service is not guaranteed.
We retired to Italy three years ago, since then we have completed the renovations on the house. We live here with our dogs and chickens. We also raise rabbits and have a large vegetable plot with poly tunnels for over wintering. There are fruit and nut trees in the garden as well as grape vines.
Albareto is surrounded by beautiful woodland with trails for hiking and mountain bikes. There are bars and restaurants within easy distance, the village has two small supermarkets for day to day needs, a bakery, bank and postoffice are also close by. During the summer there are festivals celebrating the local area and cuisine. The Taro valley is full of places to explore nature and historic towns like the near-by walled town of Compiano. Borgo-val-di Taro is 10km away, there is an open air market on a Monday, and an antiques and collectables market on alternate Sundays. A laundrette, hospital, postoffice, banks, cafes, bars and larger supermarkets (Conad, Ins, Carrefour) are also available there.
