It is history that draws the enchanting profile of Villa Arnolfini, a historic residence immersed in the green hills of Lucca, perfectly preserved in every part and embellished with splendid frescoes in every room, which recall the glories of an extraordinary past. Villa Arnolfini considered among the top five most representative villas in Lucca. Built at the beginning of the 17th century by the Arnolfini family, and richly frescoed in Baroque style by the great masters Gioacchino Pizzoli and Angelo Michele Colonna (also known for the works carried out in the Pitti Palace in Florence and Palazzo Ducale in Rome), the residence lived its period of maximum splendor in the 19th century when it passed to Attilio di Silvestro Arnolfini. The Arnolfini family traditionally had important political importance, and came from a generation of merchants from Lucca, famous throughout the world for their trade in luxurious fabrics. It then passed to the Marchi family who, throughout the 1900s, in the surrounding lands intended for vineyards and olive groves, produced Gragnano oil and wine in their cellars, appreciated throughout the world.
