Villetta Sampaguita has two newly-renovated boutique apartment suites, both self contained with full kitchen and living room, available for short and long term rental. We have recently renovated the apartments (August 2019) with attention to detail, comfort and home-away-from-home feeling based on our previous 18 years of operating a bigger B&B in Piedmont. Both apartments have wonderful views of the nearby castle, the mountains and the vineyard covered hills. We are open all year round with both heating and air-conditioning for guest comfort. We have a wealth of knowledge about Piedmont and are always available for assistance and advice about wineries, restaurants, places to go to. We are located in the charming village of San Pietro overlooking the historic castle of Govone halfway between Alba and Asti (15 minutes in either direction). The famous wine towns of Barolo and Barbaresco are a short drive away. Our location is ideal for anyone wanting to spend some time exploring Piedmont or just relaxing in the tranquil surroundings of a country village. We also offer cooking classes on a regular basis in our custom designed show kitchen.

Villetta Sampaguita is the home of Rina Vargas and Tim Brewer. Tim was originally from Africa (South Africa & Kenya) and has lived in California, Hong Kong, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, and worked in Russia. Rina was originally from Bicol in the Philippines we met in Manila and started a business running a restaurant and a hotel on a motor yacht anchored off Boracay Island, one of the world's premiere paradise beach locations. In 1996 we moved to London from Moscow. Three years later when Tim's work moved him to Taiwan, we decided to change our lives and move to Northern Italy to find a vineyard property which we could convert into a small hotel. We arrived on Easter of 2001, and purchased a farm property with a big farmhouse near to Asti which we converted into an agriturismo farm-stay bed and breakfast - Villa Sampaguita. After 18 years of wonderful experiences, many guests from all over the world who became our friends, we moved to the beautiful village of San Pietro, where we started Villetta Sampaguita for guests who want to spend time in Piedmont and for Rina to focus on her cooking.

The Roero is one of central Piedmont’s main wine areas and although not as well-known as the adjacent Monferrato and Langhe, does not lack in quality wines at better values and is less touristy. The area is also famous for peaches and honey. The gently rolling hills are ideal for hiking and biking and we have e-bikes available for rent to those who need a little boost. The famous wine areas of Barbaresco and Barolo are a short drive from us; we can arrange tours either self drive or with a car and English speaking driver if you like to sample the wines without having to drive. Piedmont is also famous for its cuisine and there are many fabulous restaurants in our area as well as Asti and Alba. There is an albergo with a restaurant in walking distance with a swimming pool/spa available on a daily basis and several restaurants in the nearby towns of Govone and Priocca. The nearest weekly food markets are in Canale and San Damiano and of course, there are many truffle fairs in season. We also offer cooking classes on a regular basis. Our local UNESCO heritage Govone Castle hosts several musical and art events each year and is known for its annual Christmas fair.
