The Nova Desert Camp of Wadi Rum is located in a breathtaking place between the colored mountains of the Wadi Rum Desert Protected Area. You'll experience real Bedouin life, night skies with more stars than you've ever seen and traditional Bedouin breakfasts, dinners, and tea. Our camp is located in an excellent spot with a fantastic sunset view, and within hiking distance of the Black Mountain. Electricity is produced with solar panels. We have showers and western-style toilets with both toilet paper and bidet, and sinks with hand soap. Staff is available 24/7 and speak fluent English. We also offer transportation to and from Wadi Rum Village, and jeep, camel, hiking, sandboard, and climbing tours. In the village you can find a small general store, should you want to buy anything last-minute. It is advised to bring cash if you want to visit the store, and for the Protected Area entry fee (5 JOD/person). My name is Sultan Abdullah and I am from Wadi Rum Village. I have finished Islamic Studies in the university in Ma'an with focus on history. I have had a passion for the Wadi Rum Desert my whole life and I have worked together with archaeologists from the US and Canada and I can read the inscriptions that exist here. I know everything about Wadi Rum Desert and the Bedouin life and have had a camp here for many years. I am very excited to teach you my knowledge of the desert by exchanging stories, philosophy, and food. There are several interests I have picked up here and there, such as cooking and painting. There are several natural and historic sites located in Wadi Rum, particularly inside the Protected Area near the camp. The rock formations are very unique and you can find inscriptions in many hidden places. The genuine attraction of Wadi Rum is the desert itself, best seen by four-wheel drive or on a camel. To really experience the desert we recommend staying overnight or even multiple days in our Bedouin camp. This way you get to experience both our gorgeous sunset and twinkling stars, in addition to other landmarks. Sites you can visit include the Khaz'ali Canyon (Siq al-Khazali, a narrow canyon famous for ancient rock carvings), Red Sand Dunes (great for sandboarding), and the farmous Umm Fruth Rock Arch.
