This property is 10 times better than the pictures represent. Staff is absolutely unbelievable. The grounds are impeccable as well as the rooms. We could’ve stayed here our entire two weeks, but had no idea this would be so perfect. I highly recommend for anyone also, although the rooms are typical tatami style, the hotel is very modern. Reviews nor pictures do this justice.

Located in the Higashiyama area and directly next to Chion-in Temple grounds, Chion-in Wajun Kaikan offers Japanese and Western-style accommodations. All meals are served at the Kasuian restaurant. Guests can take the public bus from JR Kyoto Train Station to Chioin-mae Bus Stop, which is a 5-minute walk away from the property. Wajun Kaikan Chion-in is a 5-minute walk from Yasaka Shrine and a 20-minute walk from Kiyomizu Temple. Gion Shijo Train Station is a 10-minute walk away and JR Kyoto Train Station is a 15-minute drive away.
