It has a great sandy beach below and it is ideal for all especially surfers. The room was very large offering fantastic views out to sea and down to the beach. There is a hotel shuttle bus taking us to Shimoda but we also caught a local bus not far from the hotel.

The location is great. Open baths, the whole Ryokan experience with food and futon.
This was our first Ryokan experience where we actually slept, and could get very used to this.

The room was good and I had an ensuite bathroom even though I booked a room with shared bathroom facilities. The Inn had two outstanding 24/7 Onsens and was only a 200m walk to Shirahama Beach.

Went to Shimoda mid Sept which was lean season for summer adventure so less people around. It offers good beaches and many water activities. Stayed for a week which gives us relaxing time to enjoy the beach and places to see.

Great town right on the coast, has a number of great beaches nearby and beautiful rocky coastlines and cliffs to see. It is more of a tourist town though, so expect prices of things to be high. Be ready to hear constantly about Commodore Perry and the Black Ships! Some things require you to sign up or buy tickets well in advance; it's worth looking up anything you're interested in trying beforehand to see if it does.
Best coffee we had was at the Hana Cafe, best food was the South Cafe.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Beach Inn Shirahama.
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Beach Inn Shirahama. It's right across the street from a lovely beach and the breakfast was quite nice. We loved the 2 outdoor onsens that are built on the 1F. Great to watch the stars from there amidst the treetops!
Location difficult to beat. Just in front of Shirahama beach. View from room is very nice as it's on the beach and bay.
We had a Japanese style room, very spacious and comfortable. Beautiful onsen as well, both indoor and outdoor. We did not visit the pool, but it looks nice and well equipped (I saw a loots of umbrella and sunbeds and also they provide floats for kids and adult as well.).
Finally the hotel has a free parking, that's a very appreciated perk if your coming by car. Highly recommended.
It was a 5-10 min walk to the beach. the view from the infinity pool was spectacular same with the two open air baths which can use for free. The rooms are all clean, the fact that they dont let you wear your outside shoes inside the hotel was a plus for me even if its a little inconvenience when you need to go out real quick.
The staff were all awesome.
This hotel is close to the railway station with just 25 mins walk, and if you want to take the black ship it only takes about 15 mins’ walk. Several restaurants are near and there’s a 711 around, so very convenient. The hotel is equipped with everything you need, and it’s owner is a very kind and helpful lady which understands Chinese.
Shimoda is a really cool town, I loved it, and I think if it hadn’t been for the location and the value of TOMI’s place, then I might not have stayed for the full three nights. I was able to rent a bike for two days very cheaply from TOMI, and the beds were very comfortable and the dorm was quiet. Loads and loads to do in the area!
From the moment we arrived, we realized this place was better than what we had expected from the photos. It felt very old-world Japan. It was dignified, polite, sprawling, and comfortable. The onsen were excellent, the gardens were nice to walk through, and staff were very courteous and helpful. We hope to go back.
The property is in a lovely location, with a beautiful swimming pool and a few minutes' walk to stunning Shirahama beach. The staff were all so friendly, kind and thoughtful. The breakfast was spectacular. There are two outdoor baths with lovely views that can be booked for private use. We had a wonderful time.
Very nice guesthouse at top location with amazing views. Shimoda is a really calming place - would definitely stay here again. Everything is clean and the common space is good to meet other people too. Twin room was great. Also the owner is so nice and helpful!! Highly recommended
Beautiful guesthouse with lovely caring staff in an idyllic location overlooking the beach. Facilities were nice and comfortable. Recommended spot for watersports rentals and close to the aquarium and beaches. BBQ area is a cute bonus but byob
Good Onsen(Hot spring) hotel near the very popular Shirahama beach in Shimoda. you can experience traditional Japanese inn including Japanese style breakfast and dinner with bathing facilities. I recommend this specially for group of people.
The location is too good with the full ocean view rooms!!
The beach near the hotel is almost like a private beach!! Free breakfast! Free dinner!! With free nomihodai!!
This is definitely Great to stay with your family!!!

Amazing location with direct access to the beach and wonderful ocean view from the balcony. Room were bigger than the average hotel in Japan and the staff were friendly.
The location is really good! it’s right by Shirahama beach, which is one of the best beaches accessible from Tokyo.
the room was spacious and quite comfortable.
The room was nice with beautiful view, the owner is very kind, there is a huge bath when you want to relax after day at beach. I really recommend this hotel !
