Seogwipo has so many places to visit and have hidden gems that are not given a lot of reviews. We had a variety of food but we particularly liked the BBQ and Bibimbap. We had rented a car and navigation around Seogwipo has been easy! We loved our trip and will be coming back for more - especially to hunt for more hidden gems!

A Quite place and peaceful, nice for escape. A lot of nice coffee shop and good restaurants. Transportation around the city maybe inconvenient if visitor want to move quickly from a place to another. Renting a car maybe a good option. Only short visit, came for a trail run so didn’t visit much tourists place or attractions.

As I understand it, Seogwipo can refer to both the city as well as the broader southwestern region of Jeju. We did not actually go to the city of Seogwipo. There was plenty to do even closer to our village in the Andeok valley. We hiked up Mt Hallasan (the Yeongsil trail), visited the closest sandy beach at Hwasun, and took the ferry to Marado island, the southernmost point in Korea. Otherwise we spent time walking on the Olle trails and trying local food like black pork and fresh fish. There are plenty of tourist attractions around, but the natural areas are so amazing that we did not make it to these. I could probably spend months on this little island and not get bored. It can be a little daunting to get around without knowing any Korean, but it is doable, and having a host who knows English can help a lot.
We stayed 2 nights at Casaloma Hotel. Checkin was very easy and parking was easy to find behind the hotel. The room was extremely comfortable with a good AC unit and perfect shower. Very WALKABLE! We walked to Cheonjiyeon waterfalls one evening; the Olle market for dinner; and a yummy Korean BBQ down the street. The breakfast buffet was HUGE - we were given coupons for the breakfast (FREE!). Pool and patio area on the roof top were a plus to relax and enjoy the beautiful views of JEJU!
Lovely hotel in a quiet part of Seogwipo. Our room had a balcony overlooking orange farms, and was really cosy. Many plugs and usb ports for east charging. The bathroom was excellent with a tub, shampoo and soaps, and a Japanese style toilet with bidet and all that jazz. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, with an understandable standard of English. There was a convenience store just by the hotel, for snacks or last minute necessities.
The washing machine was the selling point and very handy for us. The kitchenette was useful as was the big fridge. Appreciated the warning at check-in that rooms wouldn't be cleaned/made every day due to covid but the hotel gave us new towels and water bottles at our front door every morning during our stay. Walking distance to central Seogwipo. The staff were nice but some couldn't speak English which we overcame with translate anyway.
Super lovely and quiet location in Seogwipo away from the bustling traffic. The location is great (southern area) to travel through whole NSEW locations in Jeju we stayed there for whole 3 days. Extremely well worth the price, spacious room, plenty of free parkings outdoor a walk away. Not to mention alot of food options available around the area + sakura street if you are in the season.
This was a popular recommendation on Booking.com and the hotel was pretty neat. It's a little old (but only compared to the other hotels I stayed at in Jeju), but the rooms are modern enough and to be fair, pretty nice. The only thing is that the hotel was PACKED, so much so that the parking was almost impossible and I almost has to park illegally on the street in front of the Hotel.
My room is more like a studio apartment, very cozy, clean and big. It is warm too during winter. There are convenience store and eateries place nearby. Seogwipo intercity bus terminal and a big E-mart are also within walking distance. Easy to travel around by bus from here as I did not drive. in addition, I also managed to see sunrise at rooftop of the hotel.
Good bedroom for the price paid. The location is good, near beautiful waterfalls, but you need a car to explore Jeju (no matter where you stay). The highlight is the spa bath with a nice view. There is a restaurant in the hotel that serves very good bbq pork. Free parking with lots of space. Although we didn't use it, there is a nice pool.
The owners are extremely nice, and this is a great property to stay at if you're looking for some peace and quiet. You'll have to clean up after yourself more than at a traditional hotel, but it wasn't bothersome. The owners make you a killer breakfast sandwich (plus fresh fruit and juice) every morning, and it is actually delicious.
Hotel was so close to the Water Park. Bed was super comfy. Cool TV in the shower! We did try in room dining! Not bad experience but on a pricier side. Location was too far from everything else in Jeju however if you think of just winding down in the vicinity, then this hotel would be perfect!
The hotel location is very good. There’s a convenience store near it, bus stops and some tourist spots are easy to go to. There’s also nearby restaurants. The staff are great and I like there’s free coffee, egg and bread. There’s also a laundry area in case you want to wash your clothes
The staff was wonderful! They helped us so much in finding all the attractions we wanted to see. They also helped us when we were trying to use the kitchen. Extremely friendly staff!
Also, this is one of the few hotels we could find that had 2 queen beds.
A perfect location and good view. I also liked the room, taking under the consideration the rank of this hotel.
It is also located in a well connected place in Seogwipo, close to airport bus stop and general public transport + Olle Market and food street!
for the location as its within Walking distance to
1) Seogwipo Olle market but the up-slope walk from hotel towards market can be challenging for seniors ;
2) Lee Jung Seop Art street; and
3) also a short drive to Cheonjiyeon & Jeongbang waterfalls
It was cheap though comparable to other high-class hotels. Staff were nice and eveything went smooth from checking-in and checking-out. Location was great since it was near the Olle Market and there are a lot of bus stops around too.
Nice hotel with lovely staff, well located to visit the southwest side of Jeju Island. The room was clean and the hotel was quiet. 7/11 and Starbucks were within walking distance. About 45 drive from the airport (approx 45,000w).
A lot to get at a cheap price! Seogwipo has lot of budget hotels but this one takes the cake, because it gives basic breakfast for free, gives all the facilities needed for a regular tourist with great comfort as well.
Location is great - view is amazing, allowing to see fisherman boats go out to the see and famous Jeju female divers going out in front of the hotel. Outside jacuzzi is a must do.
Seongsan Ilchulbong could be seen from hotel cafe. Room is comfy and self service coffee is even better. Parking area is clean and tidy with charging station.
