The location was ideal. We could easily walk into the downtown area and to the Botanical Gardens but it was quiet. There were large grounds with in season fruits available to be picked.AT thetime we visited (March), most fruits were not quite ripe, but the cherry guavas were plentiful and delicious

Our stay at Endeavour Lodge exceeded our expectations. The photos online look amazing but even that could not prepare you for the spectacular view from the house. It was spacious, well equipped, close to everything. Our family had a wonderful stay and we would definitely stay again. I recommend it to anyone heading to Norfolk Island

The whole island is a friendly place.

The whole island is a friendly place. The people obviously care for each other and the community works as a whole. The history of Norfolk will never be forgotten, and you learn so much from the many tours available. The modern day is present as well with WiFi and eco tourism is practised there in spades. The only negative for travellers who have never been before is that the whole island closes down at 12pm on Wednesday. Make sure you find out the opening hours of businesses. You will need a car to go to all of the attractions. The beach at Emily Bay, Kingston. Anson Bay, Captain Cooks lookout, the Gardens and Mt. Pitt. Restaurants abound but be prepared for shortages in fresh milk and vegetables. Food is a new adventure.

The main township on the island.

The main township on the island. Lots of great places to eat or just have a coffee. Be prepared though: as everything needs to come from the mainland by ship, the prices at the grocery market are very dear! My wife tells me that the selection, price and quality of shoes and handbags at the Franks Shoes were extraordinary. Restaurants that we recommend: Salty Beer Garden for an informal bite, The Olive for great coffee, Hilli Restaurant and Bailey's Restaurant for fine dining. You must try the Trumpeter, it's served at most restaurants and it's amazing! We initially stayed in Burnt Pine at the Cumberland Resort. The great part of staying in and around Burnt Pine is that the tour buses pick you up right in front of your property.

A trip to Norfolk Island is a must, not many attractions for kids, more suited to travelers who are interested in the culture and history of the island. A few adjustments to consider with food due to availability of product. Overall an experience not to be missed if it's on your list then go there!

Paradise Hotel & Resort is everything people are looking for in a relaxing holiday on Norfolk Island, the Staff are always helpful & love to share their local knowledge, the rooms are spotlessly, clean, the restaurant is open for 3 meals a day & set in a very relaxing atmosphere. We will return to Paradise Hotel & Resort again in the future, to again enjoy wonderful hospitality whilst we further investigate the intriguing & historical Norfolk Island Regards; Ian

Nice town in the heart of Norfolk Island.

Nice town in the heart of Norfolk Island. Lots of shops, cafes and restaurants and some travel agents to organise your tours during your stay on the island. Friendly locals help make your stay even more pleasant. Some of our favourite eating places were La Perouse, High Tide Kitchen and The Olive for breakfast or lunch. Bailey's (our favourite) and Hilli's restaurant for a la carte dinner. Happy cocktail hour at Bailey's from 5pm to 6pm is a must for cocktail lovers.

Extraordinarily friendly and helpful people, a modest but totally fitting range of facilities and services, a history of depth and interest, and the sea views - all just wonderful. Only one point: The museums were closed and did not open until 3 January. That just does not make sense during the Christmas/New Year period - but I understand that the problem was the lack of qualified staff over the holiday period.
