Valkenswaard is a lovely town.
Valkenswaard is a lovely town. We went there for the 75th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Town in 1944 with the Market Garden Push. We go to visit the grave of a relative. Lots of good restaurants. Greek Restaurant Sirtaki was excellent. Steak House Beer & Beefs, really good Steaks. Very nice high street & shopping areas. Always beautiful flowers on display, & the people of the town are very friendly. Bus service looks good, but I am told they do not take cash, only cards. No direct bus to airport. No free Car Parking, so we longer hire a car when we are there. But we also had difficulty getting a Taxi to the airport , so friends took us.

There's a terrace to enjoy the sun and the beautiful views of the garden and fields. There's a little kitchen if you want to use it - but we highly recommend the breakfast which was really amazing. We especially loved the art all around the house inside and outside and that our car had a private spot to be parked on. Valkenswaard is a beautiful little town too!MonikaGermany

The same goes for breakfast: just tell the staff what you like, and they prepare it for you. Normally, I don't appreciate hotel breakfasts because they are often overpriced for what you get. But at Brownies & Downies Valkenswaard, it is more than worth it. The grounds are serene and interesting. There are wild falcons and their nests as well as chickens, bee hives, gardens, walnut grove, and a wonderful tea terrace with tasty fare.
